As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly prominent in society, Americans continue to see few upsides to using it in business. Three-quarters of Americans say AI will reduce the total number of jobs in the country over the next 10 years, 85% are concerned about using AI for hiring decisions, and 77% do not trust businesses much (44%) or at all (33%) to use AI responsibly. However, there are actions businesses can take to alleviate these concerns. When asked to choose from a list of actions that businesses can take to most reduce concerns about AI, Americans most frequently say companies should be transparent about how AI is being used in business practices (57%). There are those who are deep into AI (including Gen AI); those who understand the possibilities and risks more than others. Then there are those who have barely touched the surface of understanding the power of Gen AI. While there are benefits, there are also risks that must be managed. Developing a comprehensive plan for harnessing the power of Gen AI in an organization while mitigating the risks is a wise course of action.

As businesses dive deeper into integrating AI, they're also ramping up their AI budgets. But here's the thing: there's a major shortage of people who know their way around AI. While some worry AI might take their jobs, the real issue for companies is finding skilled people to make AI work. To tackle this, firms are focusing on training and retraining their employees. They get it—having the right tech-savvy team is key to pushing AI forward. #NewWork #FutureOfWork #ArtificialIntelligence https://lnkd.in/dEDiVJ5d

Keep on learning... It’s hard to keep up with the sheer amount of information coming at each of us every day. I’m personally finding it even harder now that I have “spend time on LinkedIn” on my daily to-do list. So. Much. Content. (But that’s a story for another day.) HR and DEI executives, like most leaders, are paying attention to the opportunities AND risks of Artificial Intelligence (AI). I appreciated this handful of articles from #HRDive that includes some optimism around AI when it comes to usage in the diversity space. #inclusiveleadership #DEIstrategy #workplaceculture #chro
AI has bias risks — but could it be a diversity boon?

When it comes to AI in the workforce, there's a common misconception that it can do anything you want it to do. I disagree. ... ... ... AI, in its current form, excels at doing what you don't want to do. This isn't just semantics. AI is fantastic, but it's not ready to perform the high-value tasks your top employees handle. Trying to align AI for such tasks is a lost cause—right now. Instead, think of AI as a tool to offload those tedious administrative tasks that prevent you from being a high performer. Organizations don’t compensate high-value employees for low-value work. Offload that work to AI so you can focus on driving the mission forward.

In today's discussions about AI, many creatives express concerns about job security. However, I firmly believe that no matter how advanced AI becomes, it won't replace creative jobs. Rather, it's the individuals who know how to effectively utilize AI that will thrive. Creatives need not fear AI; instead, they should explore ways to integrate it into their workflow to enhance efficiency. We should be looking at our workflow to see if there are repetitive tasks that AI could do so we can focus more on higher-level creative thinking, strategy, and innovation. Those who can leverage AI effectively will undoubtedly become game-changers in this field. Just my two cents on AI: Don't worry about it; embrace it and utilize it to your advantage.

2wI just posted about this same topic specifically in relation to jobs lost and reducing risks (primarily from a humanity risk perspective). While AI will be the next major economic disrupter we face, we need to look at new ways of empowering the workforce most affected. We can’t afford to have jobs lost to AI with an ever increasing world population. Meaningful/fulfilling jobs will be slim to none as tech improves and more businesses adopt this resource. Do we really understand what Pandora’s Box will release in 5-10 years from now?
