In a recent survey, 25% of the moderate white women we heard from said abortion rights will NOT factor into their vote choice this year. When compared to the mere 11% of non-moderate white women (i.e., those who are already entrenched in their views and are not part of our audience) who won't consider abortion at the polls, it becomes clear that increasing the salience of reproductive freedom for moderate women is an important part of strengthening support for these rights. ⚡ Want to see more research tidbits like this the way they're meant to be seen? The European Parliament has taken a step forward by voting in favor of including access to abortion in the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights. With 336 votes in favor and 163 against, the proposal received substantial support primarily from left-wing and centrist members. However, some right-wing members opposed the measure. While this vote represents a significant milestone, it's important to note that the resolution is non-binding. Achieving a full-fledged right to abortion access within the EU's charter would require unanimous support from all 27 member states. Nevertheless, this decision serves as a powerful demand on member states where abortion is currently restricted or banned. It sets a clear direction for progress towards ensuring reproductive rights and bodily autonomy for all individuals across Europe. Let's continue to advocate for the protection of these fundamental rights and work towards a future where access to safe and legal abortion is guaranteed for everyone. #ReproductiveRights #EUAbortionAccess #FundamentalRights 🌍♀️

Addressing abortion from a women's rights perspective is crucial. In some parts of Mexico and the Americas, women face criminalization for their reproductive choices, violating their healthcare access. This unjust punishment stems from a desire not to maternalize, infringing upon autonomy and dignity. It's crucial to recognize the traumas of sexual abuse and the lack of protection for women afterwards. Let's advocate for comprehensive reproductive rights, including safe and stigma-free abortion services, ensuring every woman's autonomy and well-being. This book compiles stories from women criminalised after PAC services leaving the reader astonished by the unjust and difficult world to be a woman. #ReproductiveRights #WomensRights #ReproductiveJustice #PAC #feminism #WomensHealth #EndStigma

#politics #society #sustainsbility #nobelprize French President Emmanuel Macron writes on X (https://lnkd.in/eM_g_DCA): “Across the world, we are witnessing a rollback of abortion rights and a rise in those who deny women the freedom to love, to choose, and to live. In Europe and beyond, we will fight for this right to become universal and effective.” Macron is extending the French position on abortion on March 8th, International Women’s Day, after its new and young prime minister Gabriel Attal gave a rousing speech to the French parliament on France’s constitutional amendment to incorporate abortion as a right, something US Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democrat women wearing whites during the March 7th State of the Union (SOTU) in the Congress also appear tp support along with President Joe Biden The White House stating in the SOTU that he will work to enshrine Roe as the law if re-elected, overturning the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision. France is wrong. In my view, abortion is nobody’s right. Life is the right of the unborn to live. Its termination is a great solemn obligation and responsibility whether by abortion, death penalty, or war. In the United States of which I am a citizen, I support the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision as the default law of the land on abortion but with flexibility for women to seek exceptions. I like the French morning after pill for women and, of course, effective male and female contraception without putting undue burden on female contraception. And sexual restraint, safe sexual practices, and safe contraception to prevent deleterious side effects on health from prolonged contraception use.

81% of voters oppose politicians meddling with abortion rights. Yet, MAGA Republicans push to ban abortion, using deceit to thwart voters' will. In Arizona, Florida, and Nevada, anti-abortion extremists are suing to stop ballot initiatives and using confusing language to undermine votes. They even rewrite ballot language and doxx petition signers in other states. This isn't just about abortion—it's about protecting democratic rights. With the 2022 Dobbs ruling, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, ending almost 50 years of women's constitutional right to have an abortion. Since policies around abortion and the definition of personhood have shifted to the states, women across America are facing a growing disparity in reproductive rights based on where they live. In half of the country, the Dobbs ruling has led to more restrictions around abortion rights and women's reproductive health. The aftermath is still unfolding, but here's a look at where we are today: #womenshealth #reproductiverights #dobbsruling #digitalhealth #ivf #abortionrights

The United States prides itself in being a nation of progress, opportunity, and most importantly— freedom. However, two years ago today, we saw a pivot from those standards as the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Since then, abortion rights have been heinously stripped away from women & pregnant people in many parts of the country. Republican controlled states are using this opportunity to push for control of bodies & spirits. We cannot, and will not, stand for this injustice. As a woman, I have seen first hand how my abortion rights are slipping away. Not only can having an abortion put me in prison in certain states, but funding for healthcare facilities that focus on reproductive justice are suffering. Abortions will never go away, so we must push for abortion to be legalized across the nation to keep our pregnant people safe. Institutions like Planned Parenthood & the Center for Reproductive Rights, along with many others, continue the fight to secure reproductive rights for all. Syracuse Cultural Workers has also taken a stand to advocate for the Pro-Choice/Reproductive Justice movement. Remember, Roe v. Wade wasn’t just about abortions, but the right to have full autonomy over our own bodies, pregnant or not. https://lnkd.in/gJribKC6 #Abortion #ReproductiveRights #mybodymychoice

The European Parliament has made a progressive move by voting in favor of including access to abortion in the EU's Charter of Fundamental Rights. The proposal received substantial support, with 336 votes in favor and 163 against, mainly from left-wing and centrist members. However, some right-wing members opposed the measure. While the vote marks a significant step forward, it's essential to recognize that the resolution is non-binding. To fully enshrine the right to abortion access within the EU's charter, unanimous approval from all 27 member states is required. Still, this decision serves as a strong call to action for member states where abortion remains restricted or banned. It outlines a clear path for progress toward ensuring reproductive rights and bodily autonomy for everyone across Europe. This decision holds particular significance for Roma women, who often face additional barriers to accessing safe and legal abortion due to systemic discrimination and socioeconomic challenges. By advocating for abortion access as a fundamental right, the European Parliament's move can help address disparities and improve reproductive healthcare options for Roma women, empowering them and contributing to their overall well-being. 🌍💖 Let's continue to champion the protection of these fundamental rights and strive for a future where access to safe and legal abortion is secured for all. 💪🌈✨ #ReproductiveRights #EUAbortionAccess #FundamentalRights 🌍♀️💜
