Product Size It’s all around us – product downsizing, additional fees and lower service levels. Lumber is one of the few remaining categories used commonly where the product has not been “down-sized”. For example, a 2x4 has measured 1-1/2” x 3-1/2” for many decades. And it still needs to be 8’ or other length as specified. Any changes to down-sizing would mean changing building codes, building practices, the hardware used in conjunction, and so on. Recently, we noticed even premium toilet paper is being downsized. Sure…. it’s still extra absorbent, two ply and so on. However, the width of the roll is now over ½” narrower. Think of the billions of rolls sold over a year and how much that ½” saves a manufacturer. Remember this when evaluating the price of wood products. As an engineer and a lifelong learner, I’m always learning from the industry despite having been a part of it for 25 years. Sometime back, one of our valued clients who’ve been using our composite hardwood pallets suggested an idea that really made me think. They recommended integrating galvanized steel C-profiles to further reinforce our already strong pallets and extend their service life, and that too on all 4 sides. Typically, these C-profiles are used in softwood pallets where joints need extra support, but this innovation has significantly boosted the durability of our hardwood pallets even though our pallets are one single board without any joints or gaps. Structure of rice cooker barrel is relatively complex. There is a round hole on the top for placing inner pot of rice cooker. There are buckles of various structures on its outer surface. There is a buckle 1 for installing control panel on the front, and a buckle 2 for installing button above buckle 1. There are buckles 3 and 4 on the left and right sides of plastic part for installing handle, as shown in Figure 1 (a) and (b). There are buckles 5 and 6 on the left and right sides of upper back of plastic part for installing rotating shaft of rice cooker cover. There is a flat plastic cup buckle 7 on the back of plastic part for installing water vapor, as shown in Figure 1 (b). Outer dimensions of rice cooker barrel are 349 mm×265 mm×162 mm, and inner hole diameter is φ207 mm, as shown in Figure 1 (c).
