BetMGM has once again onboarded Chris Rock for a marketing campaign in the United Kingdom. The comedian originally starred in the company’s launch campaign when the operator hit the British market and has now appeared in another advert. The new campaign was launched on October 17 and will be aired on TV, radio and across BetMGM’s social and digital platforms. It is set to promote BetMGM’s products while encouraging players to take time to think and play responsibly. The Star Entertainment Group, Australia’s second-biggest casino operator, can keep its Sydney casino running even though it still faces regulatory problems. The New South Wales Independent Casino Commission (NICC) slapped the company with a big fine of AUD15 million ($10 million) because it kept failing to follow the rules. Additionally, Star’s casino license suspension will last longer, and a manager picked by the regulator will keep an eye on the company until March 31, 2025. A new law targeting illegal gambling operations received unanimous approval in Macau’s Legislative Assembly. This effort represents the latest attempt by the city to reorganize its gaming industry. All 32 legislators voted in favor of the “Law to Combat Crimes of Illegal Gambling” in the Wednesday plenary session, targeting unauthorized online gambling, the running of illegal games of fortune, and unlicensed money exchanges. Online gaming operator Kindred Group plc, has published a new financial update as part of its tender offer by the French national lottery operator FDJ - La Française des Jeux (FDJ). Kindred is set to publish its full report on October 25. Kindred noted that the publication of its unaudited Q3 total revenue is part of its M&A arrangement with FDJ. The latter company acquired Kindred by buying out the company’s entire outstanding share capital and forming one of the biggest gambling groups in Europe. Dr. Miriam Adelson, billionaire and owner of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., has contributed $95 million to the pro-Trump Preserve America PAC during the third quarter of 2024, a substantial boost to the former president’s re-election campaign. The donations, made between July and September, bring her total support for the PAC to $100 million for the year. This financial backing comes as Trump’s campaign faces a tighter fundraising race against Vice President Kamala Harris, whose campaign has raised $1 billion so far, compared to Trump’s $853 million, reported Bloomberg. American Bettors' Voice (ABV), a fresh advocacy group in the sports betting world, has added Dr. Harry Crane to its advisory board. ABV, which professional sports bettors Gadoon “Spanky” Kryollos and Billy Walters started with gaming industry expert Richard Scheutz, wants to tackle the issues that bettors meet in the changing US sports betting scene. Dr. Crane, who teaches at Rutgers University, brings deep knowledge of statistical analysis, betting exchanges, and prediction markets to the ABV. Las Vegas has historically attracted criminals. Yet, from its early days tied to the Mafia to present-day incidents that are now thankfully isolated cases, Sin City has prioritized security. However, an incident from earlier this year, when a man stabbed two Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa employees in August, showed that casino resorts are still short of running an adequate security force, even though the perpetrator was promptly taken down by a security casino officer. This may now be changing with the help of Jonathan Alvarez, the CEO of Protective Force International, whose company has secured contracts with 18 casinos and has deployed security staff on the premises.
