We are looking forward to joining our friends at the Fair Play Alliance at the Game Developers Conference on Monday, March 18. Michael Preston and Sarah Jacobstein will join Kimberly Voll, PhD, Weszt Hart, Natasha Miller, and Shuli Gilutz, Ph.D. 🔜 GDC for Harmonizing Multiplayer Experiences, an interactive workshop. In this workshop, we will go through some best practices for risk assessment to determine where you can anticipate player behavior problems in a game, identifying what good looks like for your game, and using behavior subgroups to create a framework for how to think about the player dynamics within a game. We will then spend time working on practical features or interventions to help enhance your desired dynamics and reduce the problematic ones. We’ll also look at how you can set and measure outcomes to assess how your game and its community are doing from a player-dynamics lens. 🚀 Excited to share our recent hackathon project, "Soccer Kick Showdown"! 🎮⚽ 👨💻 Teaming up with Oriana Valentina Montes and Jacob Colby two talented individuals, we participated in a thrilling 24-hour hackathon for sandbox. With limited time and boundless creativity, we set out to create an immersive multiplayer soccer penalty shootout game that would captivate players and bring the excitement of the sport to life. 🔍 My role in the project involved spearheading the backend code scripting and contributing to the overall game concept. It was an exhilarating challenge, as it marked my first foray into game development and C# programming. Despite facing obstacles along the way, such as time constraints and learning curves, our team remained resilient, leveraging our collective skills and determination to overcome hurdles and deliver a polished gaming experience. 🎮 "Soccer Kick Showdown" features dynamic gameplay, intuitive controls, and engaging mechanics that keep players on the edge of their seats. From crafting the game's design to implementing intricate gameplay elements, every step of the journey was a testament to our team's dedication and passion for creating memorable gaming experiences. 🌟 Moving forward, we're excited to continue refining and expanding our game, with plans to add new features, game modes, and enhancements based on player feedback.
