D1 College Basketball coaches have four options for recruiting players to their program. 1️⃣ High School Prospects 2️⃣ College Transfers 3️⃣ Junior College Transfers 4️⃣ International Prospects It is getting increasingly harder for a high school prospect to earn a division 1 scholarship nowadays due to these factors ⤵️ •The transfer portal becoming more of a priority for schools who are looking to have experienced rosters. •Recent ruling for JUCO transfers, which led to the NCAA granting a temporary waiver permitting an additional year of eligibility for former JUCO athletes. (NCAA is currently appealing the ruling) •NIL has made college basketball a lot more of an attractive option for international players. #CollegeBasketball #AAU #YouthSports #GameUp

The major news coming out of the U.S. college sporting landscape, surrounding Diego Pavia's legal victory over the NCAA, thus granting him further eligibility is poised to once again change the landscape of college athletics. Pavia's victory is almost certain to pave the way for a rule change that will allow athletes to play two years of junior college athletics, without using up any of their NCAA (and likely NAIA) eligibility. How will this impact JUCO soccer? The opportunity of playing six years of college soccer will be too good to turn down, especially for international athletes (who make up a large percentage of JUCO soccer players). Is this a good thing for college athletics? #ncaa #soccer

The Potential of Football in Schools: A Game-Changer for Students American football holds immense growth potential among students who are inspired by American culture and see athletes who look like them achieving success. With football being added to the 2028 Olympics, the sport’s visibility and global reach will grow even further, offering students even greater aspirations. Representation matters, and for many young people, football offers a unique opportunity to connect their identities with ambition. By introducing football programs, schools can engage students, diversify their sports offerings, and provide pathways to scholarships and global recognition. It’s not just a sport; it’s a bridge to belonging and achievement. Schools ready to embrace this change will set their students—and themselves—apart. #Football #AmericanFootball #Olympics2028 #YouthSports #RepresentationMatters #SportsDevelopment #NFL #StudentAthletes #Education #GlobalSports #DiversityInSports #FutureOfSports #Opportunity

📰The newest NCAA expansion proposal potentially offers over 700 new scholarships across 40 sports for student-athletes (per Ross Dellenger) Sports like Tumbling (+41), Lacrosse (+35), and Track (+32 for Men and +27 for Women) will see the largest increase in scholarship numbers. These new figures represent the maximum number of players a sport can have in a season & the maximum scholarships it can distribute. Schools are not required to use all the newly allotted scholarships. Walk-ons and players with partial scholarships may still exist. 💻 https://lnkd.in/gBpD4yPA

🏀💭 Is D1 Becoming the Minor Leagues? With the recent news that JUCO (Junior College) years won't count towards eligibility for NCAA Division I athletes, a thought-provoking question arises: Does this almost formalize D1 as the "minor leagues" of college sports, with JUCO now taking on a more distinct, college-level identity? While JUCO programs have long provided an essential stepping stone for athletes, especially those seeking another shot at D1 or professional careers, this shift could blur the lines between developmental leagues and actual college education. 🤔 Could this move signal a future where D1 becomes more about developing future pros, and JUCO offers a more traditional college experience for student-athletes? #CollegeSports #NCAA #D1 #JUCO #Eligibility #AmateurAthletics #SportsIndustry #FutureOfSports #AthleteDevelopment #NCAASports #CollegeBasketball #CollegeFootball #SportsTrends
