In Getting Things Done, David Allen has this great planning method he calls, "Going to dinner". It's a simple process, but we can use it for all sorts of projects. 1. Decide what you want. 2. Set your standards, then 3. Brain storm steps, FINALLY 4. Sort the steps. Maybe AI can generate a sorted of list of ideas in one go, but most people can't. Why? Because we store ideas associatively, not probabilistically. AI picks words by probability of what has been published. We select ideas by related emotional connections, and significance. These are two different processes. #Planning #Ideas #Creativity

Just finished reading "The Great Mental Models" by Shane Parrish. This book is not your typical page-turner, but it's worth it. It's a great ammunition for your thinking and decision-making by using mental models. The book helps you understand and navigate the complex world around you. It also helps you introspect and know your strengths and weaknesses, and focus on areas where you have the most expertise and experience. Break down complex problems into their fundamental elements, and reason from the ground up. Think backward from your desired outcome, and avoid the things that could prevent you from achieving it. Estimate the likelihood and range of possible outcomes, and account for uncertainty and randomness. One of the most interesting parts of the book is the coverage and consideration of Occam's razor principle. This principle suggests finding simplicity in complex problems, choosing the simplest explanation that fits the facts, and avoiding unnecessary complications and assumptions. Occam's Razor can be applied in various areas to simplify and streamline decision-making processes such as AI & ML, scientific research, problem-solving, project management, communication, and Digital transformational decision-making.
