The Tata Punch has become India’s top-selling car with over 1.26 lakh units sold between January and July 2024. The Maruti Suzuki WagonR, which has been the top-selling car in India for a long time, slipped to second place with 1.16 lakh units sold. The Hyundai Creta was the third best-selling car during this period with 1.09 lakh units sold, followed by the Maruti Brezza and Ertiga with 1.05 lakh and 1.04 lakh units, respectively. Tata Motors has registered a massive growth in the sales of the Punch compared to the same period last year when just over 79,000 units were sold. However, in July 2024, Punch sales slipped to fourth position with the Hyundai Creta taking the top spot. According to media reports, electric and CNG variants make up 47% of Punch’s total sales, whereas CNG contributes to 45% of WagonR’s sales. Automaker Maruti Suzuki India on Wednesday reported a 4.7 per cent increase in total sales at 1,68,089 units in April The company had dispatched a total of 1,60,529 units to its dealers in the same month last year, Maruti Suzuki India said in a statement Total domestic passenger vehicle sales were 1,37,952 units compared to 1,37,320 units in the year-ago period, it added Sales of mini segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, declined to 11,519 units as against 14,110 units in April 2023. Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S and WagonR, also fell to 56,953 units last month over 74,935 units in the year-ago month Utility vehicles, consisting of Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross and XL6, clocked sales of 56,553 units last month from 36,754 units earlier Sales of vans were 12,060 units in April as against 10,504 units a year ago, while that of light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 2,496 units from 2,199 units in April 2023 MSI said its exports last month stood at 22,160 units compared to 16,971 units in the same month last year #MarutiSuzuki #MarutiSuzukiNexa #marutisuzukiindia #marutisuzukiswift

𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 Auto sales in India fell by up to 𝟯% in August, marking the second consecutive month of decline. This dip is attributed to a high base from last year and carmakers 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝘁o manages high inventory levels. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Industry estimates suggest that around 𝟯𝟱𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬-𝟯𝟱𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 vehicles were dispatched from factories to dealers in August, down from 𝟯𝟲𝟭,𝟭𝟮𝟯 vehicles in the same month last year. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗶 𝗦𝘂𝘇𝘂𝗸𝗶 saw an 𝟴.𝟰% drop in sales, with 𝟭𝟰𝟯,𝟬𝟳𝟱 units sold. The company adjusted its dispatches to align with market demand, reducing dealership inventory to 𝟯𝟲 days. 𝗦𝗨𝗩𝘀 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁. Despite the decline, SUVs continue to be a strong segment for manufacturers. Maruti Suzuki's SUV sales made up 𝟱𝟱% of its total passenger vehicle sales in August. 𝗛𝘆𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗶 also saw 𝟲𝟲%* of its domestic sales come from SUVs. However, Hyundai's overall sales dropped by 𝟴% to 𝟰𝟵,𝟱𝟮𝟱 units. 𝗠𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 While Maruti Suzuki,Hy undai, and Tata Motors saw declines, Toyota, Kia, and MG Motor bucked the trend. 𝗧𝗼𝘆𝗼𝘁𝗮 sales surged by 𝟯𝟲% to 28,589 vehicles, 𝗞𝗶𝗮 increased by 𝟭𝟳% to 22,523 vehicles, and 𝗠𝗚 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 sold 4,571 vehicles. 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 Carmakers are optimistic about a 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 during the upcoming festive season, starting with Ganesh Chaturthi and Onam. Increased consumer interest and higher footfall are already being observed, especially in SUVs and MPVs, which are seeing strong demand even in tier-2 and tier-3 markets. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 The automotive industry faced challenges in August with a slight decline in sales, but optimism remains high as the festive season approaches, with expectations for a significant rebound in demand.
