Today’s article has been living in the back of our mind for quite some time but we never got around to do it, for a reason or another. Yesterday we finally changed our mind, so we're here to tell you about one of our favorite red carpets of the year, thanks to the fabulous #LucyBoynton and her latest movie project: #TheGreatestHits.

According to Susan Ibitz, when you go to trial, you have to pay attention to your makeup, hair, and clothes because every single juror will look at you. Because of this, Susan works with a makeup artist to add in-depth color and tone. So when Amber Heard showed up in court and wasn’t wearing mascara or fake lashes, Susan knew she was going to testify—and that anything she said would be a lie. Why?   When women cry, mascara runs. It’s theatrical. When you see this, no matter how unempathetic you are, you feel the need to hand them a tissue. Amber knew she was going to cry and prepared in advance by not wearing mascara. (If she had been coached properly, she would’ve worn the mascara to evoke the visceral response in the jury).   Your face has to reflect the emotion, and you can’t force it. Amber overacted. Susan loves B-type movies where everything is exaggerated. She emphasizes that they deserve an Oscar compared to Amber Heard's acting. It all felt fake, staged, and scripted. And it’s why no one believed her. 👔 A boy should learn from his father how to tie a tie. 👔 Only... I don't remember the last time I actually tied a tie. When I did, my preference was the half-windsor knot, that works best with my neck and face (with a spread collar shirt). A man learns that over time. The other day I saw a big4 consultant sharing a picture from a client presentation wearing a tie. Felt a bit nostalgic, I opened my wardrobe and found my 26 silk ties I've still kept. I probably got rid of another 30 in the last 10 years. I don't do ties any more. Not even for a client presentation. I also prefer chinos with rolled up sleeves rather than a suit. Even that feels too much in an office sometimes with everyone wandering around in jeans. The world became #nononsense #straighttalk and supporting more genuine appearance in the day to day. This is true for #consultancy as well. No BS. Cut the non-value add stuff and get to the point. This is what I do now. Getting to the point without a tie, because you don't need a tie to look/sound more serious. You need to look genuine, you need to be genuine. Independent consultancy is genuine. With or without a 👔... whatever makes you be you, that will work best for your client. Because they pay you to be you.
