Here is another interesting article about hospitals revitalizing their foodservice operations and how they are delivering better dining experiences for patients in innovative ways.

Practice Greenhealth partner NYC Health + Hospitals, the country’s largest municipal health system, has made plant-based food the default for inpatient meals. Now, a year after it made those sweeping changes, the hospital system has reduced its food-related carbon emissions by 36%. Other hospitals are also showing leadership in this area, with over 100 having signed the Coolfood Pledge, a cross-sector initiative with the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from food purchasing by 25% by 2030. Primary care is the only health care component where an increased supply is associated with better population health and more equitable outcomes. That’s the conclusion of a report by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The report went on to say we need better primary care – where doctors with different skills share information and work in teams. We need more direct primary care.
