The key for challengers in any industry is to either: 1. Be where the incumbents don't want to be (see the areas the Big Four banks have recently moved out of), or 2. Focus on what they struggle with as larger companies (focus on relationships and service, or the digital experience) There are some great examples of emerging companies finding their niche by undertaking either of the strategies above. The key to either approach is to understand the market. You can do this by talking in depth with your customers and key stakeholders; use their expertise to build your strategy.

The partnership was announced in July 2022, with branding from Amber Group’s cryptocurrency exchange, Whalefin, appearing on all first-team playing kit. Who Are Riyadh Air? Launched in March 2023, Riyadh Air are a new entrant in the global airline sector. The Saudi Arabian airline are owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and are the country’s second flag carrier alongside Saudia. Commercial operations are due to begin in 2025 as part of the country's goal of attracting 100m tourists by 2030. How Much Is the New Partnership Worth? Atletico Madrid are set to earn a reported €40m per season from the partnership - a similar amount to their previous collaboration with Amber Group.
