Stuff I Wasn’t Prepared For: - Being vulnerable with people on the team. I oscillate between keeping it 100% professional, and slipping into buddy mode. Still figuring out what the right balance is. - The pride you feel when you see newer members of the team aspire to be like the older members of the team. Seeing your early team realise their worth is so so special. - The special brand of heart ache when someone from your early team decides to step away for their next adventure. I haven’t had a break-up in more than a decade, but this feels like one in the nicest non-toxic way possible. (Alexa play Channa Mereya) - Seeing the new(er) kids on the block step up to the crease with an unmatched hunger to succeed. It’s a reminder that even though there’s a lot more we need to do, we have already travelled a considerable way. - Realising that your managers in the past also went through all of these feelings. Some dealt with them the same way, some dealt with them differently. Easier to pass judgement, harder to go through it yourself.

I have an incredible team. Just when you think you might not belong or not feeling valued, having a great team can snap you out of it. What they did to show me I'm in the right place with the right people was a great example of leading up the chain and cover and move....IYKYK (Extreme Ownership). They pushed along w/ the help of my wife, who amazingly kept a secret (barely), to have me recognized at a work event for my retirement from the military. Interestingly it was an event tied to mental health awareness month put on by our VetNet-IL ERG and our Wellness team. This was fantastic event by the way. I love that our company recognizes the importance of these types of things. I always judge leaders in large part to how their people feel about them. Are they liked? Do they go above and beyond? Do they take ownership in their work? Do they help and collaborate to solve issues? Just to name a few. I will always value "my" people's opinion of "working for me" over anyone else at work. Generally speaking, if the answer is yes to those questions, you will have success in whatever you do. It's almost impossible to be successful in an operations environment w/o having a team that has your back as much as you have theirs. The recognition they pushed hard for was just a slide with some pics of my career on it. I'm not a recognition person. I prefer to operate in the background. However, the effort and energy they put into making it happen is what made it mean so much. To top it off, when I came into work today, this was what was in my office. It was a framed pic of the slide used in the event yesterday with a card. Thank you. Your timing was perfect ❤️

What if I told you that having more time to spend making memories with your kids was just 30 minutes away? I've been thinking about this over the long weekend. Parental guilt is real 😥 Many of us struggle to balance work and family time, feeling the constant pull between our professional responsibilities and personal life. When I talk about giving our clients 'freedom to lead', I mean: → Freedom from the day-to-day tasks → Freedom from 'noise' → Freedom to think But also, → Freedom to take Tommy out for ice cream. Just because you want to. → And freedom for that ladies' lunch with your little princess. What would freedom mean for you? If you could, what would you choose to do today? Chief Experience Officer at HireBetter ◼ Empowering Dynamic Disruptors to Scale with Game-Changing Talent Strategies
Such wisdom from my friend Jason Bronstad, CEO of MALK Organics Not Work-Life Balance, Work-Life Integration. It is the little things we do to support one another, in all aspects of our lives, that make BIG differences for those around us. Go Be A Good Human. Make a difference in someone's day. #humantohuman #worklifeintegration
Work-Life Integration: Being a Partner is Tough. Being a Parent is Tough. Being a Leader is Tough. AND for those of us that are blessed with the opportunity to do all 3, it can be overwhelming at times to be present in all 3! Admittedly, for years I would put on the hat of "I'm the provider - that is my role, and what I'm going to focus on". I was not the best partner, I was not the best father. Now I thrive on trying to find little ways that I can surprise and delight my family and co-workers. This morning before going to the gym, I was able to get a load of laundry started, and the dishwasher unloaded... got my workout in, and transferred the clothes to the dryer. Do I want recognition? NO. I want to do what I can to give my wife and kids time to connect and not feel obligated on some of the menial household tasks. Just like cold plunging in the morning, doing something hard to start the day, or contributing to the family to start the day really sets me up for a great mental state to engage the team and our partners. Go do that "little thing" that takes ~5min and notice how you get an endorphin rush that you can share with others. Go Be A Good Human!

We've been talking a lot lately about how our inner child, fun and play can be the secret to increasing motivation, along with a host of other great benefits which boost performance. It's something people tend to struggle to comprehend how you can bring an essence of that to work and not loose all professional credibility, or worse get sacked... Well, we're not talking about the kind of 'play' where you put worms in your sisters swim suit (yes, someone at Threedom really did that, and I'm sure you most of you will be able to guess who that was.... 🙄🤦♀️) Here's a great quick read about how we can all bring the power of play to work and reap the benefits. https://lnkd.in/eqaXCfvY

Is it just dance? Or is there so much more going on? I have used a specific method of dance for 25 years to create in groups: Connection Resilience Attunement to oneself and others Belonging Creating a sense of rootedness and more trust and willingness to help one another, and team ownership. I’ve seen kids and adults alike with social anxiety break out in the middle of a circle. How did that happen? It didn’t just “happen”. It was ochestrated. Thank you Karen Judge for sharing this with me. This message is powerful, And this guy’s moves are 🔥🙌🏻😂 If you’re looking for a FUN team building event that will ignite your team, message me. #teambuilding #dancepsychology #connection

Mondays are a highlight in our Resilient work chat. That's when we all share pictures and updates from our weekends. Some of us hit the trails or ride bikes, some focus on family time, and others tackle chores during their days off. Outside of work, we each have our own hobbies to unwind. We make sure to celebrate victories, whether big or small (big shoutout to Claudia, Colin, and Martina—congrats on the recent success). During challenges, we've got each other's backs. It's not about fitting into a mold; it's about being our true selves. In these moments of sharing both vulnerability and triumph, our bonds grow stronger, creating a foundation of trust and resilience. We value the uniqueness of each team member, whether we're in the office or off the clock. #DiversityandInclusion #ResilientTeam #FintechInnovation #TeamCulture #TalentAcquisition

Sweet Reminder Let’s strive to be supportive and considerate coworkers. Approach your work with passion and kindness, regardless of your rank or position. We’re all in this together. Don’t be the reason someone feels unmotivated, burned out, anxious, or isolated. Please avoid actions that might diminish someone else’s self-confidence. Let’s work together to create a safe and healthy environment for everyone who is committed to growing in their careers. Remember, we’re all fighting silent battles, and the world is already chaotic enough. Let’s make kindness a priority at work.
