GRMC's dietary team members have worked very hard to make our employees feel extra special during National Hospital Week. Employees were treated to cake yesterday and today the dietary team is busy preparing meals for everyone to enjoy. Join us in thanking our dietary team for going the extra mile in not only serving our patients, but our employees as well on a daily basis. We appreciate each of them for all they do for GRMC and treating our patients and each other like family. #WeAreHealthcare #HospitalWeek #Caring4MD

Let’s end junk food in hospitals! The same patients who go to hospitals to recover from illnesses, get ill in hospitals because of junk food! You go to the best hospitals of the country and even they are filled with samosas, kachoris, chips and other junk food. Hospitals are supposed to be pillars of health and they should serve healthy food to patients. In fact, the food at hospitals should set an example that can be followed by school canteens, college hostels and office canteens! I request every hospital to provide better quality food to patients! #LetsEndJunkFoodinHospitals

A Recently published study in Poland shows that Legionella contamination of hot water systems in hospital and nursing homes is a frequent occurrence : 12% of the analysed samples over 5 years, with contaminated samples ocurring at least once in 41% of the hospitals and 28% of the nursing homes. Considering the threat to human health of such contaminations, this emphasizes the need for frequent testing for Legionella in these type of institutions, be it in Poland or in any other country. #Legionella #LegionellaSp #NursingHomes #Hospital #Water #SanitaryControl

This week marks the 2024 Feeding Tube Awareness Week (4-10th February 2024) taking place worldwide - designed to encourage people to talk about their experiences with tube feeding and raise awareness. Each year we seek to raise awareness of the positive benefits of feeding tubes which are a simple piece of medical equipment, used for both children and adults for a variety of conditions but which can represent a lifesaving medical intervention. Tube feeding is the process of supplying nutrients to people who are unable to eat or drink orally via a tube through the nose or directly into the stomach and there are a wide range conditions where tube feeds enable people to receive their necessary nutrition. There are an estimated 40,000 adults and children in the UK relying on tube feeding.[1] As we celebrate #FeedingTubeAwarnessWeek, BSNA supports the campaign’s focus on embracing the positives and being thankful that feeding tubes help people to live, grow and thrive! You can read more on our blog: https://rb.gy/r5ws13 or watch our video which explains tube feeding in more detail as well wider medical foods: https://lnkd.in/eyHEvTGv
