Digital CMC @ QbDVision | Enabling End-To-End Product Lifecycle Management for Global Pharma/Biotech Organisations
The pharmaceutical industry has long relied on documents to share knowledge and advance drug development. But in today's digital age, that approach is both outdated and inefficient. So, I think it's high time we transition from document-centric to data-centric drug development. In this approach, companies extract and structure data from documents, building an integrated digital knowledge base. The key information within documents then becomes findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR), and the documents themselves become an afterthought. How can companies enact this transition? A 3-step approach: 1. Index document content, not just documents themselves. 2. Use an example, like a Quality Target Product Profile, to see how this works in practice. A "Digital QTPP" aligns with ICH Q8 guidelines but shifts collaboration to data, not documents. 3. Build a data culture. Provide training and incentives to help teams adopt new tools and ways of working. Curious? Come and see me discuss this live at Making Pharmaceuticals UK on the 23rd of April.
