🌟 Register now for our upcoming webinar: "From the Lab to the Bench: Scaling up Regulatory T Cell Therapy." Register here: https://lnkd.in/gbYgfq5e 🗓️ Date: Thursday, September 12th, 2024 🕗 Time: 11:00 EDT Join us to hear from Megan Levings, Ph.D., from the University of British Columbia and the BC Children's Hospital Research Institute, who will present compelling data on how CAR-engineered Tregs can induce immune tolerance. This breakthrough has significant implications for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, organ transplants, and stem cell transplantation. The discussion will also cover the importance of producing these therapeutics in a closed, automated environment to minimize contamination risks and human error. Don't miss out on this opportunity! #Webinar #RegulatoryTCellTherapy #Immunology #Autoimmune

Not every patient responds to drugs in the same way 💊 . This may be due to differences in DNA. The structure of genes in DNA can make certain drugs work faster or slower. This is why geneticists are now creating a profile that can be used to determine exactly what patients' expected sensitivity is to certain medication. It will become available to our haematology patients this month. In cancer treatments such as stem cell therapy or CAR-T cell therapy, incorrect starting doses can have consequences. Haematologist 👩⚕️ Carolien Woolthuis expects a lot from the DNA profile: ‘It shows which dosage best suits the patient. That can make all the difference.' 👍 Geneticists Jackie Dekens and Lude Franke will investigate whether it can also be applied to patients with other conditions, such as cardiovascular disease. They will also investigate whether healthy individuals can also benefit. 'We want to know whether all the information is clear and whether participants also want to share it with their healthcare providers. And we would like to investigate whether it makes sense to make such a DNA profile of everyone.' Curious to find out more? ➡ https://lnkd.in/eTQpj--Q #haematology, #dna #lifelines

https://lnkd.in/gnezZtAu Article title: Dissemine intravasculary coagulation may be the presenting feature for chronic myelomonocytic leukemia: Special case report Author(s): Itir Sirinoglu Demiriz Journal: Archives of Hematology Case Reports and Reviews Journal ISSN: 2640-7914 Abstract: Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a malignant myeloid stem cell disease accompanied by dysplasia in the context of myeloproliferative disease. Peripheral cytopenias (mainly anemia and thrombocytopenia) and hepatosplenomegaly are common findings. Dramatic leukocytosis can also be seen without transformation to acute myeloid leukemia (AML); in some cases, this leukocytosis is associated with leukostasis and end organ damage. Splenomegaly is present in up to 25 percent of patients with CMML and is often accompanied by hepatomegaly, lymphadenopathy, or nodular cutaneous leukemic infiltrates. #Anemia #AcuteMyeloidLeukemia #LymphAngiogenesis #HematologicalMalignancies #BloodTransfusion #SerumProteinElectrophoresis #HematopoieticStemCellTransplantation #PhotoAcoustics #LymphNodeBiopsy #BCellLymphoma #InvivoFlowCytometry #ChainsofHemoglobin #Lymphoma #HodgkinsLymphoma #Coagulation #Thalassemia #NonHodgkinsDisease #MultipleMyeloma #StemCellsAndHematopoiesis #LeukocytesAndPlatelets #RedCellBiology #HematologicNeoplasia #Immunobiology #BloodAndMarrowTransplantation #TransfusionMedicine #VascularBiology #Hemobiology #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers

https://lnkd.in/gWF24DKZ Article title: Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia: A rare hematologic malignancy that needs due consideration Author(s): Temesgen Assefa*; Yosef Alebel Journal: Archives of Hematology Case Reports and Reviews Journal ISSN: 2640-7914 Introduction: Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML) is a malignant hematopoietic stem cell disorder with clinical and pathological features of both a myeloproliferative neoplasm and myelodysplastic syndrome [1]. According to the 2016 WHO classification of hematologic malignancies it is categorized as MyeloDysplastic /Myeloproliferative Neoplasm [2]. CMML is a rare aggressive Chronic Leukemia with a tendency to progress to Acute Leukemia. It occurs most commonly in older adults, with a median age at diagnosis is ~ 65–75 years. There is a moderate male predominance in its incidence [3]. #MyelodysplasticSyndrome #MyeloproliferativeNeoplasm #Leukocytosis #Monocytosis #Anemia #AcuteMyeloidLeukemia #LymphAngiogenesis #HematologicalMalignancies #BloodTransfusion #SerumProteinElectrophoresis #HematopoieticStemCellTransplantation #PhotoAcoustics #LymphNodeBiopsy #BCellLymphoma #InvivoFlowCytometry #ChainsofHemoglobin #Lymphoma #HodgkinsLymphoma #Coagulation #Thalassemia #NonHodgkinsDisease #MultipleMyeloma #StemCellsAndHematopoiesis #LeukocytesAndPlatelets #RedCellBiology #HematologicNeoplasia #Immunobiology #BloodAndMarrowTransplantation #TransfusionMedicine #VascularBiology #Hemobiology #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers
