If you are over 21 years old and living in Erie and have ever uttered the phrase "What this city needs is..." or something along those lines, you need to join YEP. 1.) "But I'm over 40, I'm too old to join." No, you're not. We removed the age limit for a reason. We need more experienced leaders to be mentors to help train and develop those that are just starting out. We need your experiences and skills to get the job done. Even if you're with us for 1 year, you can make a significant impact. 2.) "I just graduated. I don't have the skills to lead." YEP is a great place to start. This is an opportunity for you to gain valuable professional skills, build your personal and professional network, and serve on a board when others may discount your abilities based on your age. If you have the desire and passion to do the work ahead of us, then you're qualified! 3.) "I'm a freelancer/entrepreneur/tradesperson/stay-at-home mom, etc.. I'm not a professional." Yes you are. Those are all professions and you have valuable skills, experiences, and networks to share. All work has value. Anyone can lead. So--if you have a desire to create positive change in Erie, please consider joining YEP.

CASE STUDY: YOUNG TALENT EARLY CAREER SUCCESS The 2023/24 Green Bay Packers are the youngest team in the NFL. It has been fascinating to watch the maturing of their collective play this year, inconsistent to begin with, in the last few games of the regular season and with the win against the Cowboys, you can see how they have elevated their performance to very high levels. So cool how great talent with strong coaching, communications, team building, and celebrating success come together. Proud to be a Packer stockholder/fan.

301 Keynotes 🎤 l Leadership Communication & Connection | Top 50 Speaker to Watch 🗣️ | 3x Author 📚 | Still Coloring Outside The Lines 🖍️
I’m a true southerner… So trust me when I say there are few places that rival the hospitality of Lubbock, TX. 🤠 Great time being back in west Texas! Key takeaways: 🔑 Discussed the difference between “will vs. skill” for high performance. Sometimes talent alone just isn’t enough. What got you here may not get you there. 🔑 Reviewed the importance of extreme ownership for self-leadership and personal development. Work on your job, and you’ll make a living. Work on yourself, and you’ll make a fortune. -J. Rohn 🔑 Unpacked the dichotomy between the company (job) and the company (people), and why the latter is most important. The shortest distance between two people is connection. As we say in football, it’s not about the X’s and O’s…it’s about the Jimmys & Joes. cc: Derrick Mitchell Jr. ****** Ready to engage and elevate your team? Perspective drives performance 🏎️ How you view what you do, impacts how you do what you - Inky Johnson In any situation, your perspective is all that matters. You can see things as a challenge or as an opportunity, depending on what your mindset is. In my role as a Partner, I view what I do through the lens of a college football coach. With two key job functions - recruit top-tier talent and development. Nick Saban and Alabama were as great as they were bc Nick knew how to recruit top talent, year in and year out. When you are selective, you want to bring people in who you feel can add value to the team while also fostering a place where they can reach their individual potential. Once you bring someone in, you have to be able to develop talent to prepare them for the pros. Under Saban’s tenure, there were 133 draft picks - 47 in the first round! So today and everyday, remember to key in on your perspective in any situation. _________________________ New York Life Northern California Be good @ life 💙

8 Macro Lessons from My Career…Thus Far Lesson #4 - Know Your Role and Do It Well The core aspect of your job should always be primary in your mind and your main focus. Use American football as our example, if you are the Offensive Coordinator, you had better coordinate all aspects of the offense at a high level, consistent with the Head Coach’s philosophy. You are not the Defensive Coordinator. You are not the General Manager. You may have opinions of those duties and how well they are being performed. You may even be asked to speak into those roles at times. But never lose sight of your main role and doing that role at a high level. If do lose focus, it’s sideways energy, at best, and can lead to destructive consequences, at worse.

Executive Coach, Mentor and Trainer for Female Executives and Entrepreneurs. I guide high achieving women to lead and create fulfilling lives and careers.
When you are a high achieving leader it is easy to fall into a never ending cycle of doing. My clients know that rather than spending every waking moment working on and talking about their career, they create the space to intentionally build a foundation for their career to flourish based on who they are. They get to work on their passions, their loves outside of their work, and live from a space of richness and spaciousness. Their most powerful work comes from a place of embodiment. Of who they are before what they do. And through knowing themselves so deeply, they build a thriving career because it becomes a true reflection of their unique offerings, both as a woman and the gifts they are here to bring.
