View the published data in JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology on the only FDA-cleared esophageal protection device based on a prospective, randomized trial with endpoint 100% based on endoscopy findings. S4 Medical’s EASY AF study showed complete prevention of esophageal fistula, and statistically significant reduction in ablation-related injury using the esolution deviation device. No limitations on wattage, all RF ablation techniques, and all endoscopies were performed in 15-72 hrs (no delay in EGD to avoid reporting thermal injuries and no wattage limitation as found in cooling studies). #afib #outcomes https://lnkd.in/g-Xsc6vE

Something is going on at the field of perioperative myocardial infarction. Take the time to go through the survey, the findings will probably affect our everyday practice in cardiac surgery. #cardiacsurgery #myocardialinfarction #infarction #heart #cabg #eacts
🩺 The diagnosis of perioperative myocardial infarction (PMI) after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a much debated issue following the results of recent randomised trials. 💡 In collaboration with expert surgeons, (non-)interventional cardiologists, biochemists, radiologists, intensive care physicians and EACTS,Samuel Heuts, Brian S. and Can Gollmann-Tepeköylü, have developed a survey where you can express your opinion. ⏱️ The survey has been designed to determine current practice and give you the opportunity to influence this highly important topic. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Complete the survey👇 https://lnkd.in/eQKeWeDB

In a study to compare the cost of standard intravenous conscious sedation with that of sedation with adjunct self-hypnotic relaxation during interventional radiologic procedures, it was found the use of adjunct hypnosis with sedation reduced the cost. Data was reviewed from a prospective randomized study in which patients undergoing vascular and renal interventional procedures underwent either standard sedation or sedation with adjunct hypnosis. The data was then used to construct a decision analysis model to compare the cost of standard sedation with the cost of sedation with adjunct hypnosis. The finding was interventional radiology saved an average of $338 per case due to shorter procedure times, fewer complications, and faster recovery. With Comfort Talk®, you can reduce costs and have more patient efficiency!
