It’s coming up to 2 years that I have been cancer free. October is always a time for me to reflect on how much my life has changed, and actually how cancer brought that change about. Liver cancer is sneaky, it develops and you may have no idea. The symptoms are subtle but can consist of; stomach pain, fatigue, weight loss, feeling sick and jaundice. Since the early 1990s, liver cancer incidence rates have increased by more than two-and-a-half times (177%) in the UK. Rates in females have increased by around two-and-a-half times (152%), and rates in males have increased by more than two-and-a-half times (180%) (2017-2019). Over the last decade, liver cancer incidence rates have increased by more than two-fifths (42%) in the UK. Rates in females have increased by more than a third (36%), and rates in males have increased by more than two-fifths (44%) (2017-2019). I share this because the statistics horrify me. We need more awareness around liver cancer.
Today is the first day of #LiverCancerAwarenessMonth Despite being the fastest growing cause of cancer death in the UK, liver cancer is often overlooked. This month is an important opportunity to raise awareness - and we need your help. Find out how to get involved here: https://lnkd.in/eSMErJUF

Today marks the start of Cervical Screening Awareness Week. I would urge everyone to follow The Eve Appeal as they hope to raise awareness and provide education on the importance of screening. They have conducted a CSAW YouGov survey which shows there is still more work to do to ensure people are aware of what is being screened for and how it can contribute towards the eradication of cervical cancer. You can read more on their blog https://bit.ly/3RuEPqC #CervicalScreeningAwarenessWeek #CSAW #CSAW2024 #WhatsStoppingYou #CervicalScreening #CervicalCancer #Hologic

7moColonoscopy is the best way to find cancer. I was stage III when my cancer was discovered, despite using a home test 5 years in a row, they never turned out to be positive….. mine was found on a screening.
