PR and Communications Consultant - Training Facilitator - Personal Branding & Media Relations Specialist
This is absolutely not surprising at all. I wish I could be more optimistic but the facts are the facts. I think the issue that we have to face is that there are less barriers to entry and the support is there but the environment, culture and networks for retention and progression are still limited. Black and mixed race Black talent continues to be infantilised and under estimated which is why some even choose to start their own agencies/become independent consultants etc. Two in three black PR pros consider leaving the industry, new research commissioned by UK Black Comms Network and PRWeek UK finds https://lnkd.in/eWSeXpDR #PR #Leadership

Now that we're all back from summer and various other kinds of breaks, I’d like to share something semi-personal that I will work hard to find time to focus on over the coming months and into next year. In addition to my "day job," I also have the privilege of serving as co-chair of the Page Society in Switzerland. For those unfamiliar, Page is the world’s leading professional association for senior strategic communications and corporate affairs leaders, as well as educators. Our membership includes chief communications officers (CCOs) from Fortune-ranked global corporations, leaders from top nonprofits, CEOs of the world’s foremost public relations agencies, and esteemed academics from top business and communication schools. The mission of Page is to elevate the enterprise leadership role of the CCO. We aim to do this by upholding the highest professional standards and continuously advancing the understanding, practice, and teaching of communications. If you're interested in learning more about our regional and global programs or are curious about membership and how to get involved, feel free to reach out to me or my co-chair, Michael Willi. We'd also be happy to invite you to one of our upcoming events, whether in Switzerland or other key markets across Europe, Asia, or the Americas. In the meantime, here’s a sample of what’s coming up, including our 2024 Global Conference in Half Moon Bay near San Francisco in California, at the end of the month. #Communications #CorporateAffairs #ChiefCommunicationsOfficer #CCO #StrategicCommunications #EnterpriseLeadership #Role #PageSociety #ProfessionalAssociation #Membership

When I first started in the Industry, speaking on stage was about credibility and content to deliver. Nowadays, it's all paid but these stage topics' popularity has decreased too. I guess everyone is looking for the right business model. Yet, it shouldn't be at the cost of poor content or such only purposed to sell. We used to be way more creative 😁 Which are the conferences you are going to after the summertime? #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #conferences
One of our industry's dirty secrets: the vast majority of awards, PR pieces and on-stage appearances are pay to play. Getting nominated usually means coughing up the dough to participate. I don't think it's much different in other industries by the way, and not necessarily bad, but more transparency on those things would be better.

Global Executive Communications Leader | Senior Director & EMEA Tech Executive Positioning Lead at Edelman
There's one week to go until the final deadline of this year's PRWeek UK 30 Under 30 Awards! So if you haven't submitted an entry yet - for you or one of your teammates, now's your chance. My tip for entrants: think about how you (or your teammate if you're nominating a colleague) have gone above and beyond in your career, delivering on SMART goals and have made a real positive impact in our industry. So be 'Specific', 'Measurable', show how the impact you've made was 'Achieved', tell us why it's 'Relevant' and how it was 'Time-Bound' (when it happened). And above all, let your personal passion come through - show us what makes you, you! Looking forward to reading the entries soon... For more details visit: https://lnkd.in/dX2tcAva

Great piece from Phoebe Hitchcox featuring in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations weekly Influence newsletter. Hope you can access it, if not and you're a comms buddy, join the CIPR so you can enjoy all of the hugely helpful development publications they have to offer.#leadership #CPD "Whether you’re writing an email or sending a text, always write the message as if it’s worthy to be published. This is one of the first lessons I learned from Andrew. "Always have the facts before you write because you could be quoted on it later. This is very true of working in PR today. Your word is always your bond. It’s an important part of being professional." https://lnkd.in/eWfnRR2N

Driving growth for innovative clients with SEO & performance ads | Certified B Corp ™ | Agency Founder
I once worked for the CIA. Not that one, Chris Ingram Associates. Which then became CIA Medianetwork. Then Mediaedge:CIA. Then MEC and who knows what now. CIA formed what the modern media agency would be, grew fast to the forth largest media agency globally (I think) Not that I was paying that much attention. I was far too busy partying to pay attention to the amazing opportunity I had in front of me. I could have made so much more of the chance I was given. My bad. Still I can always say I worked for the CIA. What is the biggest regret you have of your career? #CareerRegrets #AdvertisingIndustry #MediaAgencyLife

On President's Day, we honor our nation's leaders through history. For this blog post, we focus on three of our past presidents who were exceptional communicators - through telegraph, air waves, and conversation. Their lessons stand the test of time and we are thankful for them! https://lnkd.in/eXSHd_f4
