Here's how you can be ahead of 97% of people in the GMAT by just knowing what to avoid: ❌ Rushing through questions Jumping from one question to the other leads to inaccuracy - especially in the Verbal section. Take a deep breath; taking an extra minute is better than getting the question wrong. ❌ Studying right before the exam The GMAT is a psychometric test. Your higher-order reasoning skills are tested here and not what you can memorize. ❌ Study to the point of burnout The determination to study is good, but it's not a good strategy. Learn to take a break when your mind demands rest. ❌ Binge studying for the GMAT Some subjects can't be understood in one sitting - and the ones that can be forgotten once you're done with the binging session. The journey to your dream GMAT score will not be easy and will contain plenty of hurdles (like the ones above). Hopefully, we were able to help clear them out for you with this :) If you're a GMAT aspirant, what other mistakes have you noticed yourself commit? If you are applying in round one study for the GMAT or the GRE right now. The saddest stories are where someone had delayed their test preparation or failed to realize how intense and black hole this test taking crap can get. They set aside two months to prepare, plan to take the test once and the whole thing went completely sideways, and they ended up taking it five times. In so doing, shorting themselves the ability to get a good consultant or otherwise have the time to prepare a solid application. So please don't sabotage yourself by delaying your test preparation, it's really really key to get the test situated before you work on your applications. Don’t slide your whole timeline and MBA chances off a cliff. #GMAT #topMBA

According to research, confident students perform better in exams and have about 46.3% more chances to achieve their goals. So, with a new feature on GMAT FE, you can change up to 3 answers after completing each section. And because of that, many aspirants have started second-guessing their answers on the test. Even if they are the correct ones. Dear aspirants, understand this: GMAT is an aptitude test, and to ace it, you must be confident. Which means you: 👉 Should not stall on one particular question. 👉 Should stop second-guessing every answer. 👉 Should be confident to apply the rules and techniques you learned in class. When you take the exam, you must approach it with a calm and patient mind capable of thinking things through without panicking. And here's how you can start doing that: ➡️ Surround yourself with the right people ➡️ Stop comparing yourself to others ➡️ Take every fall positively ➡️ Practice positive talks ➡️ Be kind to yourself What else can you add to the list? #gmat #gre #mba #gmatfocusedition #harvard #stanford #wharton

The GMAC has lifted the 8-attempt lifetime restriction on taking the GMAT. What does this mean if you are someone with the GMAT on your radar and nebulous MBA dreams? While the rule of a maximum of 5 attempts within a rolling 12-month period still applies, this change offers a significant psychological boost to anxious test-takers. 💡 A More Holistic Application: Accomplished professionals can now focus on addressing specific test taking weaknesses and building a more cohesive narrative that aligns their academic, professional, and standardized test performance. 💡 Rising Test Score Standards: As more test-takers have the opportunity to improve their scores, we can expect higher benchmarks as the new normal in the coming years. While you might not plan to take the GMAT more than a few times, this change underscores the evolving landscape of MBA admissions and support for applicants with a strong drive for continuous improvement. Did you catch the announcement from Graduate Management Admission Council™ (GMAC™) this week? "The “GMAT Focus Edition” name served as a crucial distinction between it and the previous version of the GMAT while both were in the market in late 2023 and early 2024. With only one version of the exam available, we are transitioning back to using the "GMAT Exam" name from July 1, 2024 onward." I wonder how easy it will be for all of us to NOT say Focus... Krithika Srinivasan, Eric Lucrezia, Linda Abraham, Candy Lee La Balle, Thomas Kalandranis, Andrea Sparrey, what do you say? Will you easily drop the Focus part? #mba #mbaadmissions #education
