We’re hard at work on both sides of the Hudson – and in it! The Hudson River Ground Stabilization Project is preparing the riverbed for tunnel boring under the river.
Phase 1 of the project started in July, and the GDC Board just approved Phase 2 to begin later this year.

Open Invitation to Peer Review WMTF/Value Space Joint Paper On Chinchurro TSF failure calling for (1)immediate independent stability assessment of the present structure especially in areas where workers are in the break area with heavy equipment (2) immediate commissioning of independent "beyond proximate cause " expert failure panel (3) temporary suspension of licenses and all operations pending outcome of these two reports. While the heavy rain may be beyond what could have been expected in this arid region and may have precipitated the failure, closer analysis shows many pre existing conditions some of which may have been created by the massive $70M expansion project that had been undertaken to extend Cabildo Operations by 29 years beyond the planned closure date for the facility. We will of course include Minera Ceniza to correct any factual errors. Neither the regulators nor ICOLD have supported these calls by WMTF and Value Space. We will be inviting each of the principal commenters here who have offered analytical insight.
“traditionally grounding’s just done with bare metal and of course the corrosion of the metal is a function of the soil chemistry but it’s also a function of the proximity to stray DC from cathodic protection systems it’s a huge problem. Well sure, we protect the buried infrastructure with CP but the stray DC starts to consume all the bare metal in the earth so you can imagine in joint used corridors where you’ve got pipelines and power lines which is quite prevalent…in many parts of the world…you have one system destroying the other” https://lnkd.in/dgag2g2dhttps://lnkd.in/enZEgVE3
We found a live natural gas force main only 2 feet underground that wasn't on the excavation plan.

Discover the trenchless pipe installation process from Petra in our latest project under the southern highway in Bogotá, Colombia.
What's the goal of this project? To install 40 meters of 36” diameter pipeline for the aqueduct. For this project, we chose the GBM methodology, which unfolds in three phases. In the video, we showcase the first phase, focusing on guiding the pipeline, ensuring a precision of +- 1 inch, crucial for avoiding any network interference and the proper operation of the aqueduct pipeline.
Here are some benefits of this methodology:
Efficiency: The GBM method ensures precise and efficient installation, cutting down on time and resources needed to finish the project.
Cost reduction: By sidestepping extensive excavations, employing the GBM methodology can lead to significant savings compared to traditional pipeline installation methods.
Precision and control: The GBM methodology enables meticulous control over the installation process, guaranteeing accurate alignment and depth of the pipeline.
