Awards - love 'em or hate 'em? Let me tell you why they can help you attract or retain talent. Yes, we all see those boozy nights on LI where people are celebrating with champagne and "bigging" each other up. That may attract talent - a free night out with nice food and free booze on the company. However, it goes deeper. Aligning your organisation with particular values or ethics attracts people with the same values and ethics. Candidates want to know that they are working with a company they can believe in. Selling a product/service that they have confidence in. Entering for awards and indeed winning awards is evidence that you practice what you preach. Shouting about these awards from the roof tops (or making sure it's on your email signature - a much missed business development tool) elevates your brand. The flip side is to sponsor an award. Be seen to be supporting that cause, that ideology, that community. It's a great way to get your values and ethics seen. Especially by the talent you are looking to attract, either now or in the future. Two local awards that Wote Street People have supported in the past are local to Basingstoke. They are the Place to be Proud of awards. Which are a fantastic opportunity to support elements of the local community - a chance to give back and the Inspire Awards, which celebrate the best in local business. Both organised by DESTINATION BASINGSTOKE LIMITED We've been nominated in both and are proud past winners of the Place to be Proud of Above & Beyond Award. Why not contact mark.jones@destinationbasingstoke.co.uk and see how you can shout about your company and maybe attract some like minded connections. #awardsdecorationsandhonors #lovebasingstoke #talentacquisition Laura M Brown Rebecca Head Assoc CIPD Dan May

Thanks for sharing this insightful article, Peggy Hoffman, FASAE, CAE . It is hard to let go of what we have always done, but if we want to remain relevant, we need to turn the page and ask our multi-generational audiences what they want.

Hey Association Leaders! Here is another edition of our #membershipmonday series of posts. We hope you find it helpful. Offering exclusive benefits to members of individual and trade associations is a critical strategy for several reasons, primarily focused on membership value, engagement, and the overall sustainability of the association. Here are two reasons why exclusive benefits are important: Member Recruitment: Exclusive benefits make membership more attractive to potential members by offering something they cannot get elsewhere. This member value proposition can be the deciding factor for individuals or organizations considering membership. Member Retention: By continually offering valuable, members-only benefits, associations can improve member retention. Members are more likely to renew their memberships if they perceive ongoing value exclusive to dues paying members. What are some key reasons that exclusive member benefits are important to your association? Contact us to find out you can strengthen your MVP and provide more members-only value! #memberview #membervalueproposition #memberrecruitment #memberretention #memberengagement #volunteers #memberbenefits

Welcome to another #MembershipMonday post. Here is another great reason why exclusive member benefits are crucial for associations. Association Committees and Task Forces: These are often exclusive benefits for members and a vital part of your member value proposition. They contribute to enhancing a member's industry knowledge, leadership development, and career advancement opportunities. They also frequently lead to thought leadership roles within an association, including chair roles, speaking engagements, and board of directors opportunities. This is a great way to increase your member retention rates as members engaged in volunteer opportunities are more likely to renew their membership. How do you position the value of your committees and task forces? Contact us at MemberView today to discover more reasons to build a strong, exclusive member value proposition. #memberview #memberbenefits #membershipmonday #memberrecruitment #memberengagement #memberretention #memberrenewals
