I love that Khalidwe Nordin chose Cardiff Metropolitan University and is learning many angles of sustainability. She shared this with me today from the Welsh Government. First published: 23 June 2015 Last updated: 15 June 2021 Sustainable development is about improving the way that we can achieve our economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being. The act starts by giving a definition of what we mean by sustainable development. In this Act “sustainable development” means the process of improving the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales by taking action, in accordance with the sustainable development principle, aimed at achieving the well-being goals. For Wales to be sustainable it is important that we improve all 4 aspects of our well-being. Application windows are about to close for Enfield’s the Green Business Accreditation Greener Enfield Pilot Scheme! This scheme allows businesses to understand and improve their environmental impact, and develop a structured framework for fostering sustainable business growth. This initiative is open to all local businesses with up to 25 employees. Congratulations to our Sustainability Manager, Environment & Operations Tatiana Schonhobel for being recognised by the Green Building Council of Australia as a Green Star Champion for 2024. Tatiana is part of a hand selected group across a wide range of industries in Australia who has helped to deliver a more sustainable built environment through the Green Star certification.   We are proud of our track record in reducing our impact on the environment and continue to set new targets, including reducing energy intensity and water intensity by 10% across our managed portfolio and delivering an average 5 star NABERS Indoor Environment rating and a 4 star NABERS Waste rating across the group office portfolio by FY25.   Looking beyond net zero, we will amplify our impact across our value chain in the line with our 1.5 degree decarbonisation journey and 2030 Science Based Target trajectories. As a RE100 signatory, we are also aiming to source 100% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030 across our managed portfolio. #ClimateAction #Sustainablity

Exciting News: The Club at Parkwood Golf Course Continues to Kick ESG Goals!   We’re thrilled to see The Club at Parkwood Golf Course mapping and making visible their amazing sustainability work. Course Superintendent Colin Thorsborne is building a digital sustainability register that already hosts 20 initiatives that include water conservation, water protection, erosion control, green infrastructure, habitat, wildlife, and SDG alignment. Colin is making these initiatives visible to the public from his Sustainability Register directly to their epar SMART Map.   Why ESG matters at The Club at Parkwood Golf Course: True business sustainability is a commitment to make, to share, and to showcase, and a legacy to inspire. Using the epar SMART Map, the organisation is using the tools to document and communicate its ESG journey and the club’s initiatives will also feature on the National epar Map of Sustainable Businesses, that will showcase their ESG work to a global audience.   Colin and the team at The Club at Parkwood Golf Course are helping pioneer a new standard for how organisations champion the protection of people, communities, and ecosystems.
