Nourishing women and girls is at the centre of ensuring that we succeed in ending hidden hunger. During food shortages, it's unfortunately common for women to eat last and least, resulting in a dire lack of essential nutrients. The integration of smart technology and forward-thinking business strategies can significantly reduce the gender gap in nutritional access, paving the way towards a world where food security is a reality for everyone, regardless of gender. Sanku's innovative solution plays a key role in achieving gender equality in nutrition and we continue to strive to ensure no one is left behind. For just $0.36 per person, Sanku is providing millions in East Africa with access to nutritious food. Join us in the commitment to #EndMalnutrition by supporting food fortification initiatives. https://lnkd.in/dfMnmc3h #SupportSanku #EndMalnutrition#EndHiddenHunger #SDG2

In 2023, through "Zëra", a series of podcasts on "Citizens Channel", along with my colleague Elira Kadriu, we brought to the table characters from different fields, who fight every day in the streets and the doors of institutions for a better society. Their voices raised for rivers, the environment, heritage, gender equality, the rights of workers often face the arrogance and violence of those in power; yet they persist, in continuous efforts to be heard, for an inclusive and democratic society. Senior Vice President, HR- Leading people & culture and driving innovation through diversity to “create a cleaner healthier world”
We speak a lot about - and take actions to- closing the gender pay gap. The goal is to reach gender equity, yet at this pace not even my potential grand children will live in an equitable world. You as fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, teachers, friends should know you have a role to play on closing the dream gap. Too often girls at young ages are told off by (un) conscious biased messages: “ no this sport is too rough”, “ please act more girl like”, “why not choose a more mainstream study“, “ this is not for girls”, “ first be a good wife, sister, mother” and the list goes on. These biased messages need to stop; let us ensure girls around the world reach their full potential. Will you decide to help close the dream gap?

If you have one min, watch this - one of the most powerful campaigns that I have come across in a while. Language matters. What we do and what we say affects the thinking of our kids - whether we are reinforcing stereotypes unknowingly or empowering them to believe. Let's close the gap. #dreamgap #gender #diversityandinclusion #equity #stereotypes #mindset #culture #change #rolemodelling #parenting #coaching https://lnkd.in/gEUSxdHt

#Barbie’s latest campaign sheds light on the Dream Gap, revealing how children, especially girls, start doubting their potential due to gender stereotypes from as young as 5. This isn’t just a girls' issue; it’s a societal challenge that requires everyone’s involvement, including boys and men. Together, we can dismantle these barriers. By fostering an environment where all children, regardless of gender, support each other in dreaming big and achieving bigger, we make strides toward closing the Dream Gap. It's about empowering every child to see beyond stereotypes, nurturing a generation that believes anything is possible. Let’s unite in this mission to ensure every child grows up knowing they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Join us in closing the Dream Gap and building a world of limitless potential for all. #Empowerment #GenderEquality #Inclusion #FierceFemales #DreamGap #Barbie https://lnkd.in/ef9STs_4

C'mon Barbie, let's go… Make a new world, full of equality. Five years ago, Mattel launched a campaign called Dream Gap, which highlights the cruel fact that girls dream freely about their future until the age of five, but afterwards, they increasingly give up on dream jobs or dream positions because they see that this is how the world works. The world does indeed work a bit like this, one of the most tangible proofs being the #GenderPayGap, which makes the situation more unfair for women around the world, both at work and at home. Among other things, WeAreOpen also fights to work together to end the gender pay gap and to ensure that pay truly measures talent. And of course, we fight for the girls as well. After all, how will someone become a leader if they give up on it at age five? Join us in our fight and download our Action Plan for closing the gender pay gap. 💪 https://lnkd.in/d3nARYce #WeAreOpen #NyitottakVagyunk #MindTheGenderGap #GenderPayGap

Gaps... we all know them and we know several! As a woman, I am quite certain I know more of them than my male friends and colleagues. But the Dream Gap makes me very sad! Especially as the mother of a daughter, because of course I want her never to stop dreaming, that she can become anything. Her gender should not be decisive! But only 💫what she brings with her, 💫what she's interested in, 💫what she enjoys, 💫her talents 💫her strengths 💫her will I think we all know it’s going to take an even bigger collective effort as just sharing this video. We have a responsibility to close this gap for the next generation of girls! #dreamgap #femaleempowerment #strongertogether #neverstopdreaming #neverstoplearning #neverstopgrowing #ownyourdevelopment #ownyourstory #futureofwork #futurework

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞: 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 I’m not crying, you’re crying! 😭 The Barbie Dream Gap Project resonates deeply, especially now that David Creak and I have two young daughters. It’s a stark reminder that we must actively dismantle gender stereotypes that limit our girls’ dreams and aspirations. The journey to equality isn’t just personal; it’s a public policy imperative. The intersection of motherhood and career presents a pivotal moment of disparity. Mothers still shoulder the majority of caregiving, trading paid employment and retirement savings for a labor of love that’s exponentially more challenging. At a recent International Women’s Day event, a speaker suggested women opt for family over career. But let’s pause and consider the context of such “choices.” Society still casts women as the default caregivers, a narrative set from the moment you leave the hospital with your newborn. Policies from governments and corporations reinforce this, making it nearly impossible for anyone but the mother to take extended leave. While recent reforms by the Labour government go some way to make parental leave more accessible to fathers, they fall short of the mark. As mothers become the primary caregivers, this role often becomes a lifelong financial anchor. Women over 55 are the fastest-growing cohort of homelessness, with their numbers increasing by 31% between 2011 and 2016. So, let’s ask ourselves: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞? 𝐈𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬? 💛 This campaign does more than make me think—it ignites a call to action. 💛 #GenderStereotypes #Empowerment #PublicPolicy #MotherhoodAndCareer #DreamGap
