Usually, such responses might make the other person feel like what he/she said is thrown down the drain. Here are 3 ways you can respond: 1. Acknowledge & Endorse: Thank the person for the praise and acknowledge the positive comment made 2. Appreciate: Express your appreciation for the support given for the achievements, eg. “I can achieve this because of your support.” 3. Aspiration: Share what you’d like to achieve next, eg. “I look forward to learning more from you and adding more value to the company.” For me, I always like to joke and say, “thanks for the compliment, please say it one more time,” which usually ends in laughter. Praises are not a bad thing, let’s learn to embrace and receive them with an open heart.
