Innovation and diversity should mean saying goodbye to toxic bonds! I heard you issued them recently, supporting those carbon bombs. Meanwhile, Crédit Agricole and BNP are stepping up and cutting ties with fossil fuel bonds. When will you join the cool climate kids and do the same? 🌍💚 #ClimateAction #Sustainability #BankOnBetter

Empowering Emerging Markets: Our Partnership with IFC and the Milken Institute 📚🤝 At Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, we are proud to partner with the IFC - International Finance Corporation and the Milken Institute through the Capital Markets Program to support economic growth in emerging markets. Since 2016, the program has centered around three key components: rigorous academic coursework, real-world experience through internships, and building a global alumni network. “Demand for this program has grown tremendously. Participants leave the program with a greater knowledge and expertise in capital markets that they can then use to explore financial solutions to pressing social and economic challenges in their own countries.” said Tom Ceusters, director of capital markets and investments at IFC. In 2023, as IFC and the Milken Institute evaluated the program’s next phase, they chose Georgetown McDonough as the new academic partner to expand the curriculum and leverage our interdisciplinary expertise. Since then, we have trained 224 professionals from 56 countries, equipping them with the skills to address critical economic challenges. Participants benefit from courses, hands-on workshops, and access to the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy. This year’s cohort also attended the Financial Markets Quality Conference, engaging with global leaders in finance. “At Georgetown McDonough, we believe in equipping professionals to lead economic and social change,” says Paul Almeida, dean of the McDonough School of Business. 🎉 Milestone Achievement: Reflecting on the Global Analyst Program Journey 🎉 This week marks a significant milestone as we wrapped up a 4-day intensive training program for the inaugural cohort of the Global Analyst Program at IFC - International Finance Corporation - a program that has been a cornerstone of talent development and operational efficiency since its launch. Since December 2023, I’ve had the privilege of playing a key role in designing and implementing this program from the ground up. It's been both challenging and rewarding, and the experience has reinforced some valuable lessons: 🔹The Power of Collaboration: Working closely with an incredible team and collaborating with stakeholders across the Learning, HR, Budget, IT, and Communications highlighted the importance of cross-functional teamwork. 🔹The Importance of Adapting to Evolving Needs: Building a program requires constant iteration and flexibility—whether it’s designing training sessions or ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the analysts and the organization's goals. 🔹The Focus on Creating Sustainable Impact: This program goes beyond rotations; it shows how we approach talent development at IFC, ensuring long-term value for both participants and the organization. A huge thanks to our amazing team leader Marcelle Ayo, my wonderful colleague Anara Zhumalieva, and all of our stakeholders. Your dedication and hard work have made this program a reality. I’m excited for what’s ahead as we continue to build on this foundation! 🙌 #LearningAndDevelopment #GlobalAnalystProgram #CareerDevelopment #Teamwork Alvaro Garcia Barba Susan O'Shaughnessy Jiten Garg

For anyone interested in investing in the debt markets, and in knowing more about the Bain Cap Credit way of doing it, a thoughtful interview with John Wright
It was a pleasure joining Institutional Investor’s Julie Segal for a wide-ranging discussion that bridged both personal and professional topics. Over the course of our conversation, we kept coming back to a key theme. Taking a long-term view on everything from partnerships, investing, and empowering people has enabled Bain Capital to mirror the evolution of the credit markets over the last 25 years. A few takeaways: 1) Partner differently: Our private partnership and long-term view affords the opportunity to focus on building true alignment with our investors and partners. It also enables us to lean into more complex or misunderstood products like #CLOs throughout market cycles or to maintain our focus on middle-market private credit where we’ve built great partnerships with sponsors and management teams. 2) “It’s never as good as you think or as bad as it feels”: This is a favorite phrase of one of my mentors Jonathan Lavine and a reminder to remain rational, disciplined, and to structure our approach to navigate and capture opportunities of market dislocation when they occur. 3) There is no age limit on good ideas: A long-term view on investing includes a long-term investment in talented young people. This means empowering our young professionals early in their careers by offering them a seat at the table and encouraging diversity of thought. An apprenticeship model is not only crucial for their professional development but often, it offers another way at looking at opportunities. I attribute so much of my career to the mentorship and exposure that I received early on. Thanks again to Julie Segal for hosting. It’s not often that we have the opportunity to look back at a career’s worth of lessons. Listen to our full conversation here: https://lnkd.in/eZErSqHT

🌍From Curiosity to Clarity: A Journey Through Economics, Finance, Operations, and Beyond🎓 After 2+ years of working in incredible organizations like Goldman Sachs and Headout, I decided to leave behind my familiar world to broaden my horizons. Reflecting on my path from earning a Bachelor's in Economics to landing a Finance role at one of the world’s top investment banks, then immersing myself in Operations and Strategy at a young travel company, and now standing here in a new country, graduating with honors in International Business Management—I find myself asking, "How did I end up here?" The answer, as I've come to realize, is both simple and profound: curiosity, values, and people. Each decision I made was shaped by a commitment to authenticity, awareness, and self-improvement. #Economics and #Finance taught me to understand what drives people in the complex and (ir)rational world of wealth creation and distribution. My role in #Operations and #Strategy allowed me to get closer to the mechanics of these systems, developing the ability to not only understand but also influence outcomes that drive both business success and, by extension, people’s experiences. I’ve been fortunate to work with diverse, global teams early in my career, which gave me a unique lens on the similarities and differences that connect us. It’s this appreciation for human connection and curiosity about what moves people that led me to George Brown College, helping me gain deeper insights into the global landscape of business. Through wholesome and intense coursework that involved a managerial view into #InternationalTrade, #Strategy, #Finance, #SupplyChain, #Cusoms, and #Marketing, and connecting with brilliant minds from around the world who generously shared their experiences and insights along the way, I’ve come to see the world with renewed purpose. Pushkar Prehar Yekta Ketenci Sofiane Belgadi Ghazala Zaidi Ila L. Kairavi Shah Flavia Saleme Arnon Melo Guilherme Fantin Rebelo Akshay Sahni Nicole Husain Sergio Frias Moving forward, with the mindset of “doing work I can be proud of,” I’m excited to bring my skills, curiosity, and dedication to the real world. I’m looking for roles where I can make a meaningful impact, work with dedicated individuals and teams, and continue this journey of mutual growth and learning. To everyone who’s been part of my journey—this milestone is as much yours as it is mine. Your support and guidance have shaped who I am today, and I am deeply grateful Catarina (Cat) von Maydell, MBA Margaret Valtas, P.Log., CTCS,CCS (US), CGSCL, QCB, CSSGB Dr. Mary Grogan Paul Pinkus Janine LeFort Shambhavi Varma Rezwanul Haque If you or someone you know is looking for a dedicated professional with a global outlook and an eagerness to grow, I’d love to connect. #Honors #Toronto #CareerOpportunities #DataAnalysis #ProductManagement #FinancialAnalysis #MarketingStrategy #ProductOperations #BusinessDevelopment #ProjectManagement #TravelOperations
