It’s bittersweet to think that a brand we once held in such high regard may soon disappear from our professional syllabuses. Throughout our professional journey, we've seen stalwarts like Lafarge, SWC, Chryso, and now Fosroc undergo similar transformations. These changes seem to be happening with alarming frequency. The impact of these shifts is debatable, whether are they good or bad for the industry? One thing is certain for sure, we have embraced these brands and their contributions, recognizing their role in shaping our professional world. This alliance, a first of its kind in the UK, is set to revolutionise the production and sale of sustainable limestone aggregates. The agreement has the potential to generate over £150 million in incremental revenue while significantly reducing SigmaRoc's environmental impact through the innovative repurposing of limestone quarry waste. As part of this groundbreaking agreement, Duo Group will play a pivotal role in establishing state-of-the-art processing plants at up to seven SigmaRoc limestone quarries. Their expertise and commitment will be instrumental in reprocessing historically uneconomical quarry tip waste into a premium construction material, thereby advancing SigmaRoc's ambition of utilising 100% of the resources it quarries. Today, Sizewell C has announced its agreement with three sites at ABP's ports of Lowestoft and Ipswich, which will be used for the storage of construction materials, as the project prepares for the start of construction. The agreement highlights how ABP’s ports in East Anglia are ideal as key hubs for handling construction materials and play a key role in more sustainable supply chains. The movement of significant volumes of cargo by rail and sea is a vital step in reducing the number of trucks on local roads. A big week in Canada partnering with the local team to bring the digital strategy to life for this epic build at Jansen. Our opportunity to truly enable safety, production and sustainability *by design* and our ambition to embed solutions at a time when technology is arguably at the biggest inflection point since the Industrial Revolution - that’s something. Getting to grips with specifics of value, what, when and foundations for the future gives us the path to making this a reality. Ideas only count when you bridge them to execution. A site visit rounded the week out, with the opportunity for field leadership on business critical infrastructure in the tech landscape.
