Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball to score a goal. Unqualified, the word football generally means the form of football that is the most popular where the word is used. Sports commonly called football include association football (known as soccer in Australia, Canada, South Africa, the United States, and sometimes in Ireland and New Zealand); Australian rules football; Gaelic football; gridiron football (specifically American football, arena football, or Canadian football); International rules football; rugby league football; and rugby union football. These various forms of football share, to varying degrees, common origins and are known as "football codes".

Couldn’t have said it better myself Jake Humphrey ⚽ We are all on our own journey, each with different challenges and triumphs. No matter the path you take, you will face setbacks. It’s how we navigate these obstacles that define our success 🏆 #leadership #businessdevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #resilience
Ollie Watkins was rejected from a club as a kid for not concentrating enough. He failed twice to win a playoff final and gain promotion. The second left him in tears. He was still playing non-league football at 20. Many of his current England teammates were playing in the Premier League at that age! He didn’t make the England squad for Euro 2020. He got cut from the final England squad for the 2022 World Cup. Last night Ollie Watkins proved that we are all on our own journey. Struggle isn’t the opposite of success…it’s part of it. You are exactly where you’re supposed to be… Well done pal! 👏

To all my friends, colleagues, and clients who are parents, and who regularly face the challenge of finding creative ways to keep your children focused on the positives, even in the most difficult situations. Even when belief is forgotten and hope is lost, this example shows how to turn failure, rejection, or disappointment into success. Instill a positive mindset and belief. This is not about trying to be perfect all the time, but about having the mindset to accept that failures and mistakes will happen. Sometimes we take the wrong path, but with positive belief, learning, and a focus on growth and change, we will get there. 🙏🙌 🪴 🌱 #growth #positivemindset #resilient

Soccer Saturday Scottish Championship End of Season Campaign Within the Scottish Championship lies a competitive landscape where every match carries immense weight, determining the fate of clubs with thin margins at stake. Dundee United's dominant run for the title contrasts starkly with the intense battle at the bottom, where each point becomes precious currency. The abrupt downturn of Abroath FC, following their brief spell of success in previous seasons, has left them languishing at the league's basement. Meanwhile, the mid-table scenario presents its own drama, with statistical probabilities dictating the destiny of clubs like Inverness Caley and Queens Park, both perilously close to the relegation zone. In this crucial juncture, upcoming fixtures become pivotal, none more so than Queens Park's clash against Arbroath—a game laden with significance as they strive to secure three vital points. Conversely, Inverness Caley faces opponents seemingly in a comfort zone, raising questions about the importance of these matches compared to others where stakes are higher. As the season hurtles towards its climax, each encounter becomes a battleground where fortunes are made and dreams shattered. Who will be the winners and losers this season?

The European Championships are just a week away and the realisation always makes me deeply excited because of pure international football is. Since international managers get little time to coach teams, there is so much more reliance on individual ability/quality of players. It is so much about making the most of small, vital moments during games and more often than not, individual ability determines that. Unlike club football, where results are defined more often by tactical approaches, structures and organisation of teams, major international tournaments are generally decided by the intangibles of individualistic art, control over moments, experience of situations and exceptional moments of magic. It all depends on who is better on the given day. The intangibles often take over during international competitions and that is why they mean so much to us. At a time when the game is increasingly focused on taking control of aspects, international football allows expression to take over. It IS football. #euro2024 #football

Amateur football players dreaming of competing on the world stage without the necessary resources face a challenge akin to building a house without a solid foundation. 🌟 To succeed in the industry, it's crucial to dream big and be prepared to pay the price. Football is a business and must be treated as such to achieve the expected profits. #DreamBig #ResourcefulThinking

We do what we do best. When everyone talks we play the game. Simple
This is always the thing when outsiders come in and steal the show. I spoke about this on a panel recently—The journey of South African teams in European rugby competitions has sparked loads of criticism. This is after the Stormers won the first United Rugby Championship and the Sharks triumphed in the Challenge Cup this year. It's tough being the new kid on the block. We've faced scheduling challenges and logistical issues, but we've also shown that we can play with the big dogs even when not at full strength. Some of the remarks against us have been outright petty. We deserve our place at the table.

🚨 Gareth Southgate: "It’s an experiment! We don't have a natural replacement for Kalvin Phillips." Really? You have incredible young pool of talent both in the squad and on the bench, yet you're focusing on someone who has barely played any league matches and isn't even in the squad. What kind of message does this send to the players who currently play in that position? His statement could have significant negative effects on their morale and performance. It's disheartening for talented players to see their hard work overlooked, especially when another player who wasn't even selected for the Euros is mentioned. After drawing with Denmark in the European Championship, these questionable decisions from the head coach can further demotivate and create doubts within the team. I generally avoid criticizing managers or coaches, but there are some serious issues here. #EURO2024 #England #Football #EuropeanChampionship2024 #GarethSouthgate #KalvinPhillips #PremierLeague #FootballNews #Soccer #TeamMorale #CoachingDecisions #EnglandVsDenmark #PlayerDevelopment #TrustYourTalent #FootballFans #SportsTalk
