What's that!?! The GDPR is a "Data Sharing" legislation for "can-do" rather than "do-not"? Do you agree? https://buff.ly/3JeuR9m I agree with the UK Regulator (the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)) who was infront of the UK Parliament in the House of Lords who said as much. This is the recording of that select committee and important in enabling data sharing for public good and public benefit. John Edwards equates processing under stealth as suspicious ecouraging high degrees of transparency but also the "social licence" of the public e.g. pandemic response meaning people expected data sharing to save lives although there are still structural and cultural barriers to gaining the immense benefits of other data sharing initiatives (hopefully not as consequence to global events). Making it easier to share data to help vulnerable children if you are part of a safeguarding improvement initiative was straightforwardly advocated and that any fear of a regulator fining an organisation for doing so is not...
