I am a senior design engineer at Geo Appliances and I am from Puerto Rico, so I'm super excited about our first ever Spanish washer model that's being made here in our headquarters located in Louisville, KY. So we have a zero distance philosophy here at GE Appliances. We're in front of customers all the time and consumers all the time. With our Spanish speaking consumers, they don't have a product that's really designed for them putting labels on their products to be able to speak Spanish or a lot of soaking that's done on the side. I learned this from my mom. When we have stains, you grab a bucket or like container filled with water, detergent, oxy powder or bleach and you let it soak for X amount of time. Sometimes you have to scrub them. So this washer, instead of you having to do those multiple steps, now I can just do everything in the washer and get rid of all those multiple steps and that extra time so they don't have to change the way they're doing anything. We're just enabling them to do it better in the machine without having to hack the product.

Isn’t it wild how we navigate through a maze of double standards every single day? In our families, with friends, at schools, universities, workplaces, and even in our favorite cafes, the rules seem to change based on who you are and where you are.
