🌍💔 As a physician, it’s painful to face situations where we can’t help our patients as much as we wish we could. When they struggle with issues beyond our control—it can feel frustrating and disheartening. But even in those moments, we can still make a difference! ✨ Listen, advocate, and support them through their journey. Every small action can help foster hope and healing. Together, we can navigate these challenges. 💪❤️ #DoctorPatientCare #EmpathyInMedicine

End-of-life care provides specialized medical and emotional support for individuals nearing the end of their lives, typically those who are considered to be within the last six months of life. It aims to enhance comfort, manage symptoms effectively, and prioritize the patient's overall quality of life. This holistic approach also extends support to families, helping them navigate the complexities and emotional challenges that come with these difficult decisions. Understanding these aspects can empower families to make informed choices and ensure their loved ones receive appropriate and compassionate care. End-of-life care isn’t as much about dying as it is about helping you to live your fullest life. #EndOfLifeCare #HospiceCare #QualityOfEndOfLife #EmotionalSupport #HospitiumUSA #HospitiumMediaLLC #HospitiumConsulting #RandalSalyerRN

He died of a kidney issue! He died of a cardiac arrest! He had a heart-related issue! He died of heart failure! These and more are the responses of young widows when asked, ''How did your husband die?'' Oluwaseun joan Stephen posted on her Instagram page to celebrate the International Day of the Widow. Men often neglect their health and fail to prioritize regular check-ups and preventative care. This can lead to serious medical conditions going undiagnosed and untreated until it's too late. The narratives shared by the widows underscore the tragic consequences of this behaviour, with young men passing away from treatable conditions. To address this issue, there needs to be a greater focus on engaging and educating men about the importance of proactive healthcare. Programs and interventions that have traditionally targeted women and girls should also make concerted efforts to include men from the outset. Involving men in the ideation and design stages is crucial for ensuring the long-term sustainability of these initiatives. #womenempowerment #mensupport #menmentalhealth

Eye contact creates meaningful connections, and that extends beyond the connections we share with our loved ones. Meaningful connections with patients and their families have been shown to reduce clinicians' moral injury and bolster co-survivors, too. Making eye contact with patients and their families is a simple way to connect. It's a small action with a big result. If you’re a survivor or co-survivor, I’d love to hear about the small steps that have helped you feel seen. Sending you all my support. 💜 #CoSurvivorship #HumanityInHealthcare #EyeContact
