Hi 👋, Labour Cllr, Hyndburn BC Cabinet Member for Business, Growth and Community Wealth Building, NED, Social Investment Specialist and CIH Skills for the Future Committee Member.
👍 Well done to all students collecting their GCSE results today. Whatever your grades, be proud because you've done so having faced some huge challenges including COVID and homeschooling etc. 👏 If you got the grades you wanted, brilliant. 🤷♂️ If you didn't, it's not the end of the world. GCSE results may seem a massive thing now, but in the grand scheme of things they're really not. 🛤️ Relax, think about what you really want to do or what really inspires you. Take advice. Pathways are still there to do whatever you want to do. ❤️ Whatever your grades, don't let your exam results define you. You're a whole lot more than a collection of GCSE grades. #gcseresults #GCSEResultsDay

Today the first set of GCSE exams start. The first group of Year 11's will take a seat and open that exam paper. I want to acknowledge the significance of this milestone in their academic journey. This moment marks the finish line of years of hard work, dedication, and growth. It’s a testament to their resilience, perseverance, and determination. Undoubtedly, the road to this point has been filled with challenges and triumphs, laughter and tears, moments of doubt and moments of clarity. They have embraced each lesson, each assignment, each hurdle as an opportunity to learn and grow. As they sit down to tackle their GCSE exams, I hope they remember that they are more than the sum of their grades. While these exams are an important measure of academic achievement, they do not define them. Their worth lies not in the marks received, but in the effort put in, the skills acquired, and the person they have become. I hope they celebrate their achievements, no matter how small they may seem. And know that whatever the outcome, they have already succeeded, simply by having the courage to try. So here’s to the Year 11's, as they embark on this next chapter of their academic journey. May they approach each exam with confidence. Tackle each question with clarity. And emerge from this experience stronger, wiser, and more resilient than ever before. Everyone is wishing you all the luck in the world.

GCSE grades don’t define you. It’s GCSE results day today and here I am again to say that the printed letters don’t define you nor your ability What helped me during the period of sadness of my not so great results is realising those printed grades, at that very moment, are static But YOU are dynamic, a letter doesn’t change who you will be in let’s say 5 years time 😁 Congratulations to all who are receiving their results today and remember where you’ve come from - this time is important don’t get me wrong but it shouldn’t define where you want to be 🫶 Stay amazing! #StudentSuccess #GCSEResultsDay
