So amazing to see the impact (10% decrease in GHG!) from this partnership between Pizza Hut and farmers from Dairy Farmers of America. Decarbonization of the food and ag space is not easy, but partnership collaboration is at the center of it as we continue to make progress towards our 2030 climate goals. #sustainabledairy #sustainablecheese #recipeforgoodgrowth
It’s no secret that we have a long history of adding craveable goodness to our pizzas that mean our customers keep coming back for more! We put this love for our pizzas down to our high-quality, delicious ingredients. On #EarthDay and every day, we strive to practice responsible stewardship. It’s our shared goal to grow in a way that's good for everyone and kind to our planet. With this in mind, we are proud to be making investments in our sustainably sourced cheese. 🧀🍕 Since 2022, we’ve been on a journey with dairy partners in the U.S. to lower our on-farm emissions. This multi-year project uses technology and innovation to better deliver precise nutrition to the cows, which leads to an increase in cow productivity and a reduction in methane emissions. 🙌🌏 We’ve seen positive results in the U.S., so we wanted to ensure the UK got a slice of the cheese action and are now kicking off a two-year project focusing on feed improvements. We are excited to see what the future holds! Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eDu5arzb #RecipeForGood #SustainableDairy #NowThatsDelivering

Here are two food types that people use in similar situations. How shall we manage them? Food type 1: 26% of North- , West- and Southern Europeans are intolerant to it. It creates 3x more emissions and requires 10x more land and 15x more water*. There is also some suffering involved that we like to pretend doesn't exist. Food type 2: Spoiler alert - it's just plant milk, folks 🤷🏽♂️🌱 How shall we deal with these two food types? Shall we - as is currently the case - charge nearly triple the VAT for Food type 2? Shall we encourage the less sustainable option, which a quarter+ of Europeans are intolerant to? Or shall we align our policies with our sanity? Let's make plant milk affordable. Encourage decision-makers to cut the VAT of plant milk to 7%, in line with animal products like dairy milk and steak. What tiny bit of insanity in the world would you like to see yourself and your community changing? #sustainability #food #future *specifically vs oat milk

What's insect-enriched food? Insect-enriched food contains ingredients derived from insects and is safe to be eaten by humans. Examples include protein bars, biscuits, snacks, crackers, pasta and baked goods. #insects are a sustainable source of food for the world’s growing population. They have a high content of protein, low fats, and have a much smaller environmental footprint than livestock because they require relatively contained spaces for farming and breed more frequently than mammals. They also contribute to a circular food system because they consume feed from some by-products or food waste. A new survey by the IPIFF (International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed) shows that insects are becoming increasingly popular in Europe. Consumer taste is evolving due to factors such as taste, market availability, health benefits, product pricing, environmental sustainability, as well as food origin.
