I am delighted to announce that I have just completed GRI training course - Unlocking the ESRS for GRI reporters. As a GRI certified sustainability professional I was concerned on how GRI reporters could utilise their existing materiality assessment to comply with ESRS requirements and why should organisations keep using the GRI standards when the new ESRS standards for mandatory reporting within the EU have been released? After completing this course I have obtained a detailed overview of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive ("CSRD") and the instrument for achieving CSRD compliance, the European Sustainability Reporting Standards ("ESRS"). EFRAG has confirmed that ESRS standards are aligned with GRI standards to the maximum degree possible. For all companies that have reported in accordance with the GRI standards so far, this means that they are well prepared for ESRS reporting and can make use of their existing reporting practices. ESRS will require companies to report on all their material impacts, risks and opportunities. Where topics or impacts are not fully covered by the ESRS, the use of GRI reporting will allow companies to address the gap in order to meet disclosure requirements. #gri #csrd #esrs #sustainabilityreporting #gemm

I’m happy to share that I’ve obtained a new certification: Unlocking the ESRS for GRI reporters from Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)! In a continuous updating as an expert GRI reporter, thanks to PSA Italy I was recently able to attend the GRI Academy course "Unlocking the ESRS for GRI reporters", which allowed me to delve deeper into how the #reporting processes carried out according to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)'s voluntary standards so far constitute a solid basis for being able to draw up a sustainability reporting that complies with the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (#ESRS) issued by EFRAG. The course is very detailed and well structured, as it analyzes differences and similarities between the two standards, making it easier to understand the new reporting requirements for large companies dictated by the European #CSRD Directive. #sustainabilityreporting #sustainability #alwayslearning

Sustainability disclosure under CSRD and ESRS is approaching quickly! ESRS vs. GRI? 🤔 Many people ask this question, and I am asked it regularly. Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) now provides its own answer: ➡️ EFRAG (the organisation behind the ESRS) and GRI have worked closely together in the development process 🤝 ➡️ The two standards are therefore very strongly aligned 🛠️ ➡️ There are interoperability maps of the two standards 🗺️ ➡️ GRI and EFRAG will continue to work together to further promote the ➡️ coherence of the two standards 🌍 ➡️ Double reporting is not necessary due to the coherence of the standards 📑 All in all, the ESRS is an international success story and will sooner or later gain global relevance due to its broad mandatory application. 🌟 #CSRD #ESRS #GRI #coherence #sustainability #ESG

Seems, that #GRI and #ESRS will either very closely cooperate, or will be merged. So that the world will use ESRS in EU and #IFRS S1/S2/SX (and their derivatives) in other parts of the world. #Sustainability reporting is moving towards a unified approach. Do you agree?
