If you are 50 or older, you will want to make sure to watch this 45 minute video! You will learn about a 2027 World Health Organization study that found the most prevalent form of discrimination in the world is Ageism (not gender, orientation or race!) A gentle reminder, to myself first, and everyone else: In all of the difficulty of seeing death and destruction, let us remember that we all belong to one humanity (however flawed we may think, we or others might be) and while we do not need to tolerate the intolerant, we do need to learn to talk to one another in grace and dignity ; to listen to one another; to get to know one another and ask one another, the kind of questions that foster understanding. Sharing this video, in case it helps anyone, who needs to pause and take a deep breathe. #peace #humanity #unity https://lnkd.in/djJKuwTV

No one eats parrots. Do you know why? If you go and try and eat a parrot, it goes, “Fuck off, you cunt.” So speaking up really does work. Right? And that has sort of been one of the themes of the show. ‘Cause I know, in the real world, in normal jobs and everyday life, you get in trouble. People tell you off for saying certain things, or thinking certain things, or even laughing at certain things, right? They say you’re bad for laughing at that. And some of you take it to heart. You go, “Oh my God. Am I a bad person?” No, you’re not. One, you can’t choose your sense of humor. You can’t. It’s involuntary. And two, that’s exactly what humor is for. To laugh at bad shit to get us through it. Right? And… I’ve never agreed with someone like with Ricky Gervais in this finale of his last show Armageddon on Netflix. “The freedom of speech is a freedom or death” said once the band Public Enemy, and I should talk about a transversal freedom including humour, drawings, doing arts, doing music, ecc We are living a dark period of extreme equality that often means extremism and complete omologation. Lack of confrontation, of thoughts and perspectives. The opposite of freedom. I don’t mean that tolerance shouldn’t be considered but when become constriction and we don’t work on meanings and values and mostly in education: we get lost in another kind of fascism. We loose perspectives, criticism, art, creativity, this pulse that makes us better persons, better humans. At the end extremism is the key word of all this small writing: when you have extremism, even if the intentions can be good you fall into destroying humanity.
