After hosting 10 events with the GenAI Collective, I’m excited to share my key learnings about NYC’s rapidly evolving AI scene in the latest edition of our community newsletter. Some key learnings: 1. NYC is far more technical and vibrant than many realize. Our Research Roundtables have hosted top researchers from Databricks, UIUC, SWE-Bench and more, proving that the city’s AI community is more technical & engaged than people assume. 2. The NYC AI scene has exploded this year, thanks to groups like The GenAI Collective, MLOps Community, Lynx Collective, South Park Commons, Fractal Tech, The AI Furnace 🧨🔥, AI Tinkerers, and others. High-quality events for founders, operators, and researchers are now a NYC staple. 3. We’re also seeing a ton of startup activity—NYC tech startups raised over $2.3B in June 2024 alone. The city is quickly becoming a proving ground for AI, with high-quality events and innovative startups driving real-world impact across diverse industries.
