Equal recognition and understanding of each other's roles are what build a strong, cohesive team. Creating an app involves a tremendous amount of effort - something we truly realised when we began working on Dehurdle. Recently, I had the pleasure to personally thank each member of our tech team for their incredible contributions to our app. Our brainstorming sessions were filled with exciting ideas and features that we envisioned for the app. But turning those ideas into reality? That’s where our tech team shined, executing everything flawlessly and tirelessly working behind the scenes. It takes a lot of hard work to build an app. During my visit, I shared many stories about the front-end challenges we faced. Sometimes, it felt like our tech team was ahead of the game while the rest of us were playing catch-up. I explained why this happened and highlighted the real issues and achievements we encountered along the way. It's essential for every team member to understand the journey, the struggles, and the triumphs. Equal recognition and understanding of each other's roles are what build a strong, cohesive team. When everyone knows the real stories behind the scenes, it fosters a sense of unity and purpose. Our tech team’s dedication is one of the strongest pillars behind Dehurdle. Their hard work and commitment have turned our visions into a seamless, functioning reality. I embarked on my Attvest adventure in December 2017, and since then, I've been continually impressed by the company's commitment to our customers. Home and Family At home, I share a wonderful life with my partner, and our two children. I'm also a proud stepmom. Our household wouldn't be complete without our two lovable dogs. I grew up in Southwest Sydney, a part of town I still call home. What about your career? My work experience includes a long history in premium funding, dating back to 1996. I've worked with Hunter, Highland Finance/GE, and most recently, Centrepoint Alliance/BOQ for 12.5 years. What are your hobbies and interests? My interests include reigniting my passion for art, drawing, and painting, which I picked up again after a long hiatus since high school. I also cherish spending quality time with my family on fun-filled days out. Do you have any fears? One quirk I've developed since having kids is a newfound fear of heights – indoor rock climbing and Ferris wheels are now a no-go for me! Life Motto As a family, we live by two mottos: "Manners cost nothing" and "Do it until you can do it well, and then you will do it because you can do it well." These principles guide our actions and remind us of the importance of politeness and perseverance in our daily lives.

I'm a dog mom to two black labs, an active community member, and a real estate agent. It's no surprise that my day to day life can be overwhelming. 😅 That's why I rely so much on one thing. The only way I can manage my workload, community meetings, and squeeze in date night with my fiancé is because of the systems I've created. For example, in my business, I have seller folders (pre-made and ready to go to my next consultatio!), Trello for client organization, and emails for communicating throughout the process. And it doesn't stop there! I need systems within our home, too. I schedule a deep clean once a month, otherwise the nose prints on the windows and dog hair would get out of control. I created an "Out the Door" station where we keep everything we need to go to the car, like our shoes, my purse, and even my dog's leashes when it's time for an adventure! Keeping these simple systems in motion help me stay on top of everything! Then, there's self care. I aim to grab lunch with friends once a month, workout 4 days a week, and no phone after 8pm. No day is perfect, but all of these things have become a part of my routine, so even when I don't fulfill everything on this list, I know it won't be long until I get back to it! Systems can be structured and strategic or they can be simple! I know I couldn't juggle all the things without mine! Do you use systems in your life!? Is being in recruitment and launching a startup the most stressful job next to being a North Sea Diver ? As I approach my 74th birthday, I find myself reflecting on the journey I've embarked on since I first laced up my running shoes for a Parkrun at the age of 72 and being in the staffing game for 50 years. It’s fitting that this year marks the 20th anniversary of parkrun—a global movement that began with Paul Sinton-Hewitt’s Bushy Park Time Trial and has grown into something truly special. Since that day two years ago, parkrun has become a cherished part of my life. I’ll be celebrating my 20th parkrun this Saturday at Hazlehead in Aberdeen, and I couldn’t be more excited. Of course, with the Aberdeen winter upon us, I might secretly hope for a cancellation every now and then, but the truth is, I wouldn’t trade these experiences for anything. I run a parkrun every three weeks, but I run for fun every day—mostly because I’ve never quite figured out how to walk! It’s like that with my ADHD. There’s an undeniable joy in the simple act of running, especially when it’s shared with a community that values health, laughter, and the great outdoors as much as I do. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that parkrun is more than just a weekly event; it’s a prescription for a long and healthy life. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to add a little more joy and a lot more vitality to their years.
