I read this great article from HBR (yes, I am a bit late). The idea is that even though AI is transforming industries and automating tasks, there are some inherently human talents that remain irreplaceable - I couldn't agree more! In the article, they highlight the three crucial human "super-talents" that AI is unlikely to replace: 1️⃣ Curiosity: AI may make decisions for us, but our natural inquisitiveness is unmatched. Embrace curiosity, explore AI tools, and use them to augment, not replace, your creative instincts. 2️⃣ Humility: With AI feeding us content tailored to our preferences, it's easy to fall into a confirmation bias trap. But true growth comes from self-awareness, introspection, and continuous feedback. 3️⃣ Emotional Intelligence: As AI mechanizes intellectual tasks, our ability to connect, empathize, and communicate becomes even more vital. Prioritize team goals, handle conflicts gracefully, and remember that while AI may win in IQ, EQ remains uniquely human. In a world dominated by algorithms, it's important not to forget our human talents. I truly believe that if we can marry our innate strengths as humans with all of these AI advancements, we can elevate our careers and industries in ways previously unimaginable. Curiousity, Self Awareness, Emotional intelligence... all interesting and very difficult to measurable.... I'm very skeptical about this article. Kind of contra positioning is less valuable than one would think.... Humans work with tools these are tools. I think we should figure out how to work with these tools not how to compete with them or put ourselves in opposition to these things.

I might add one more key characteristic - judgement! The only thing artificial intelligence algorithms couldn’t do as well up until recently, was to “generate” content. And that’s created the biggest scare most people have today- more than the era of automation. All that the models are doing is to get so good at predicting “the next thing to say/ do.” And that’s fine, because, It can take a predictive model a million pictures of a cat to recognize the next one, but takes a three year old 2, maybe 3 to learn the same. According to me, this is the biggest and most irreplaceable human role in the world of AI - exercising judgement.

The article starts with the wrong premise that the ‘new AI tools’ (read Gen AI) will replace the human talents of reasoning, planning and common sense, which the new AI doesn’t !!
