In the field of tech, there is a need for different skills and ideation which can be acquired through gender diversity. It is important to attract more women in tech because it brings diverse perspective and increases productivity resulting in a dynamic team and a better business outcome. We can start with these actions: 1: Encourage women to apply. 2: Spark the interest early on. 3: Give greater space to female role models. 4: Allow flexible working hours. 5: Training, mentorship and female networks. https://lnkd.in/d4seHAH. At a time when the tech sector is growing and developing faster than ever before, it's concerning to see women leaving the industry altogether For starters, companies need to ensure women feel supported and encouraged to stay in tech. Companies should look to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. The tech industry also needs to do a better job of promoting female role models, showing young women that it's possible to have a successful career in tech #WomenInTech #WomenInSTEM

📢 Did you know that women currently hold only 26.7% of tech-related jobs? We're in the 21st century, a time of extraordinary technological advances, and yet, the tech sector is still predominantly male. Consider this: ➡️ Only 35% of STEM students are women. ➡️ More than 50% of women in tech report gender inequality, discrimination, or sexual harassment in environments dominated by men. ➡️ 1 in 5 women in tech are thinking of leaving their jobs This isn't just an equity issue, but a missed opportunity for innovation! 💡 Despite the glaring disparity, women are making waves in the tech industry. They are problem solvers, innovators, and leaders who are actively shaping the future. The key is diversification. Bringing more women into tech isn't just about fairness - it's about tapping into a reservoir of untapped potential that can drive innovation forward. I recently came across a post that depicted - "Priority should be given to male candidates just as it is given to women," and I wholeheartedly support the idea that talent should always take precedence, regardless of an individual's gender, background, or ethnicity. Although women make up 47.7% of the global workforce, the representation of women in the tech industry is an important issue to address: As of 2022, the worldwide average for female representation in the technology sector stands at 33%. This means that the current ratio of men to women in technology is approximately 3:1. Taking a closer look at the Canadian tech workforce, women accounted for only 23% as of 2023. Women hold a meager 22% of tech positions in European companies. In the United States, women comprised 26% of roles in the tech sector. Even in 2023, the tech industry remains heavily dominated by men. It's worth noting that 39% of women in the tech field perceive gender bias as a significant barrier to their career advancement. These statistics prompt me to contemplate the fundamental question of who should genuinely receive equal consideration? Women are underrepresented in STEM fields, particularly tech, with only 22% of AI workers and 28% of engineering graduates being women. This gender gap is concerning for various reasons: it hinders women's involvement in shaping emerging technologies, limits their access to high-paying careers, and exacerbates inequalities exacerbated by digital disruption. However, research shows that women in tech feel more included and empowered than women in other industries, suggesting progress. Yet, the industry must still address the gender representation gap and promote diversity. Collaboration across sectors is crucial to bridge the gender and digital divide and ensure equal opportunities for women in tech. #InclusionMatters #WomenInSTEM #DiversityInTech #GenderEquityMonth
