OSFI and other regulators are making it clear that ethical behaviour needs to go beyond simple training and communication. Financial services firms, as a part of Canada's #criticalinfrastructure, need to understand who represents their business (their directors, officers, advisors, staff and contractors ("Representatives")) when they are retained and on their ongoing relationship with the firm. The core issues are not technology or data as is evident from VigilantCS's VCSPro offering. These are manageable. The bigger issue is how do you balance a Representatives right to privacy, the duty the financial services firm has to protect and support their Representatives, while also protecting the interest of the firm, its clients and Canadians.
