When you pitch yourself, you make people uncomfortable. Trust me, I've been there. The “oh so I started my career here and then I kind of squiggled over there and then suddenly I found myself 5 miles in the other direction…” soliloquy is all too familiar to me 😅 Can we blame these poor souls who listen oh-so-politely and blink encouragingly as their minds start making dinner plans? No. We need to make our messaging stick. While most of us lead with a chronological history of all the roles we’ve had, I’ve learnt that doesn’t cut it when you have a non-traditional path. If you’ve zigged, zagged, squiggled or spiked, you need to tell your story differently. And the more I’ve developed my red thread story, the more certain I’ve become of one thing. My range is my greatest asset. This evening at 7pm GMT, Lindsey and I are hosting a free session with Generalist World 🌀 as part of Butter 🧈's ‘Seen in Scenes’–an epic 24-hour workshop marathon to celebrate the launch of their brand new product (s/o Cheska and the rest of the team - it is truly AWESOME). We’ll teach you how to: 1️⃣ Identify your unique skill stack 2️⃣ Mould your squiggly story into a compelling one-liner 3️⃣ Turn your generalist superpower into market opportunities Our promise? You'll walk away with a clear framework to position and monetise your unique stack of skills (instead of breaking out in sweats whenever anyone asks “So, what do you do?”). Tempting, I know. Leave a 🌀 in the comments and I'll share the link to join!
Read this as “how to turn your RAGE into revenue” orgininally and honestly here for it 😂
Looking forward to it 🌀
