How to Find Enough Power Sources for Electric Fleets "Fleets on the path to electrification first must decide one of two options: Find outside sources for charging electric fleet vehicles or develop a charging facility on your own."

The increased adoption of EVs into different economic sectors makes the need for charging stations that deliver more power and the supporting grid infrastructure expansion imperative. The jump from 350 kW DCFCs to 750 kW and megawatt charging stations should keep electric utilities on their toes for the next decade and beyond. We cannot maintain the typical ten-year capital project timeline anymore if we are to successfully transition passenger vehicles and freight trucks to zero-emission alternatives. https://lnkd.in/e9GvtEti

California reached a major milestone of 100,000 public chargers for EVs with the goal of 250,000 chargers over the next few years. The state also celebrated a truck charging depot plus 50 battery electric trucks, supported by $27 million in state funding which is part of the California Climate Commitment with $10 billion assigned for zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) and ZEV infrastructure. Creating infrastructure for these new battery electric trucks is critical to phase out the current highly polluting, diesel-powered 'big rig' trucks which transport goods to and from the state's major sea ports.
