What moves the corporate climate needle? Have a look at our Net-Zero report surveying 1,400 sustainability executives across the globe on their take-aways and key drivers towards a net-zero world. Summa summarum: 📢 Climate conscious companies, those with senior executives with sustainability mandates in their title, are taking action, the others less so. 💡 Customer demand is the biggest driver for climate action, while investor pressure has fallen or plays less of a role. 🔍 About half the companies surveyed say that climate communications have become challenging for risk of scrutiny, choosing to say less or nothing instead of being transparent about the actions they have taken. Want to catch up on the latest corporate climate action trends? South Pole has just launched its latest Net Zero Report that takes a deep dive into the state of global corporate climate action. It includes insights from 1,400 global sustainability executives on what drives their climate commitments, what they view as risks, what solutions they’re prioritising, and how their organisations are progressing on their net zero emissions journey. My own take-aways: 1. 92% of listed companies around the world still haven't publicly committed to net zero - that is a huge number and a stark reminder of the work that still needs to be done 2. the interviewed group of climate-conscious companies are setting climate goals, but decrease their communications around it; it's a shame that they cannot communicate because of stakeholder scrutiny and increasingly complex regulations 3. the majority of surveyed companies, also in hard-to-abate industries, plan to reach their net zero targets by or before 2030 which is maybe too ambitious - a credible net-zero commitment is not just a target but should show a clear understanding of the transformation needed incl. roadmap and science to back up the target. Operationalization vs. just setting a target Download the report here: https://lnkd.in/dAkSvi9y #NetZero #ClimateSolutions #ClimateAction #ClimateImpactforAll

🌍 Sustainability is a defining issue of the 21st century, and businesses have a crucial role to play - including our own. As well as continuing to support emissions reduction at scale and speed, helping clients move faster toward their net zero goals and being on track to reaching our own net zero commitments, we know that emissions reduction alone isn’t enough. We must also adapt to the climate change that is already happening and will continue to accelerate. Scroll through just some of the ways we’ve continued to act on adaptation, and discover more insights in our Global Annual Review: https://pwc.to/3SHh3Zp #PwCGAR23 #Sustainability #TheNewEquation
