This needs more attention. Orchestrating collegiate executives to help spearhead esports discussions is no easy feat. Whether it's two executives collaborating or ten, we should be thankful large collegiate universities are discussing ways to elevate their sector in the industry.
I still foresee more professional players being recruited to prominent Universities over the next three to five years. Professional players who don't have the skillset to transfer to operations, business, marketing, sales, etc., can return to school and get a degree while continuing to lean on their competitive passions.
I also anticipate more sponsorship dollars to migrate to collegiate esport programs as they field talent that can push more viewership, storylines, and intertwine the community focus most schools are already enriched with.
The Voice of Intercollegiate Esports (VOICE) has unveiled its Presidents Advisory Council, which includes the heads of major universities in America.
The council will meet to identify issues in the collegiate esports industry and then work with VOICE to publish suggestions.
