Human Experience Week recognises and celebrates that the experiences of our patients, their families and carers cannot be separated from the experiences of our caregivers (staff and volunteers). The theme for 2024, Innovate to Elevate, focuses on the importance of amplifying voices to inspire hope and making the important shift from surviving to thriving by removing the pebbles in our shoes. At NSW Health, we know that the exceptional patient experience is more than receiving excellent clinical care. How that care is delivered and how it makes us feel is just as important. As a healthcare leader, I always appreciate a list like ECRI's 2024 top 10. I immediately ask a few questions: 1) How would I prioritize these across my facility? 2) Where does my organization stand on each of the top 10? Are we a "best practice", average, or in the back of the pack. 3) Are the organizational resource priorities aligned with these safety concerns? And, above all, there is a patient on the other end of each safety concern. Am I doing my part as a healthcare leader to make sure these are not in the top 10 in 2025?

I'm not tagging individual staff, because it took a bevy of folks to produce these, but please know that I recognize all of the hard work you all put in. The second awesome product is an interactive display of amounts that commercial insurers paid Oregon hospitals for 120 selected procedures, developed by the Hospital Reporting Program.
