I will help you own your career & your life 🚀 | Co-founder @Unschool (YC'21) | Enterprise Sales & Product Expert
I cycled 400 kilometres across Europe in 2019, Here's what I did, → No Social Media, offline maps to navigate. → No schedule, stopped when I wanted, slept when I fancied. → No planned route, explored places I never imagined I would. → No hostel bookings, couch-surfed to meet people. → No companion, cycled all alone. And, I learnt that, → Life has more to offer when your eyes aren't glued to an 8-inch screen. → Time doesn't stop for anyone, manage your attention, not your day. → The destination is never as exciting as the journey itself. → Humans are stories, you hear these stories when you meet new people. → If you don't love being by yourself, you won't love being around people. No, you don't have to go to Europe and cycle for 400 km to learn this. You can do what's within your reach and learn similar life-long lessons. It changed me. Changed me from the core. For all who started the year on a clean slate, what have you put on the state so far? week 2 of the year is almost over and with the pace that the time is flying, the first quarter Will be over soonest. With time, the motivation of new year new me dies and what to keep you glued in the pursuit of your goals is the discipline to keep up doing things consistently even when tasks/activities are no longer enticing. The discipline to continue with the progress no matter the boredom that comes with routine. Or should I say the discipline to stick to the routine knowing very well the achievements are tiny/small close to negligible. At the end of it its the tiny bits of the success that will build up to be a great accomplishment and bring about the moment of crossing off that goal in your vision board. Anyway, be encouraged, enjoy the process and don't be fixated on the results as not to appreciate the process. So long as there is progress no matter how small it is, keep up the progress. Rome wasn't build on one day.
