🎓 Considering GPA and standardized test scores is a common approach when choosing colleges, but it's crucial to acknowledge the varied impact on diverse student groups. Scattergrams, though a useful tool, may inadvertently discourage high-achievers from aiming higher and encourage late bloomers to reach beyond perceived limitations. Let's foster an inclusive college application process that empowers all students to pursue their aspirations. #CollegeAdmissions #DiversityInEducation

Don't use the SAT/ACT to admit students, but have all students still take it and let colleges use it to determine how much additional academic support students who do enroll will need to be successful and complete. #college #education #highered #admissions #school #testing #NYtimes #policy #university

Enriching Students is a Flex period (WIN Time) scheduler. I have helped hundreds of schools utilize this easy to manage platform.
Schools can tailor W.I.N. time to a diverse range of populations and learning environments, and work for large or small school populations. If you're a middle or high school, find some ideas for W.I.N. time activities here, https://ow.ly/cxSu50Q5AYS

Last year, about 70% of U.S. students had returned to school by August 25, with some districts even adopting year-round schedules. With some schools starting as early as July instead of September, it raises the question: is starting school earlier beneficial for teachers and students? Schools argue that starting earlier helps manage overcrowding, reduce summer learning loss, and better prepare students for standardized tests. From the archives... Grade levels are an artificial construct of institutionalized schooling which is a pragmatic attempt to organize the masses into manageable groups. It is impossible to measure true education and individual intellectual growth by such measures, which is why many homeschooling families don’t worry about grade levels at all. It is a fun social experiment to ask a group of homeschoolers what grade they are in, because often you get a myriad of responses ranging from “I don’t know,” to an ordinal number followed by “-ish.” Children can be (and often times in home education are) in coursework of multiple grade levels simultaneously. The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter, and many families are learning to vocalize that position so as not to handicap their children with contrived labels of competitive achievement that do not reflect the true educational attainment of the individual. Furthermore, besides the parents, a child’s educational progress is nobody else’s business. #HomeEducation #homeschool #homeschooling #education #GetOutNow #PublicSchoolExit #ChristianEducation #EdcuationIsDiscipleship #ChristianHomeschoolRevolution https://lnkd.in/gWrA7BMu
