🌟 Today, I had the privilege of attending a workshop as part of The First 72 Hours Program (In conjunction with Stathbogie Shire) hosted by Euroa SES. https://lnkd.in/gCN4bQt8 I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to enhance their emergency preparedness skills. It provides invaluable insights into how to respond effectively during those critical first hours following an emergency. Moreover, it would be fantastic to see a more visible collaborative approach among leading emergency responder organisations, including SES, CFA, AV, Red Cross, Council (LEAP) Community, and others. By combining initiatives such as the CFA's Emergency Preparedness Advisory Service (EPAS) and the Person-Centered Emergency Planning (P-CEP), we can create a more robust support system for all in our communities. - Learn more about EPAS here: [CFA EPAS](https://lnkd.in/gSqQY4vG) - Discover P-CEP here: [P-CEP](https://lnkd.in/g-USDTf) - Explore The First 72 Hours Program here: https://lnkd.in/gCN4bQt8 Collaboration can significantly strengthen our community's resilience and ensure we are better prepared for any situation. Let’s unite our efforts to create a safer prepared community for future emergencies 💪 #EmergencyPreparedness #First72Hours #CommunityResilience #Partnerships #SES #CFA #AV #RedCross #InclusivePreparation #EmergencyResponse #PCEP

The Centre of Clinical Excellence, in collaboration with VRS Communities and the Legion Veterans Village, is proud to introduce the Veterans Housing Support Program (VHSP), designed to provide transitional housing and comprehensive care for CAF Veterans. The program helps them achieve independent living and active community participation. The VHSP offers a safe, structured, and drug-free environment where Veterans can overcome challenges and flourish in civilian life. Our inclusive care focuses on enhancing health and wellness with a range of services, including sleep optimization, nutrition, life coaching and practical skills, all delivered in a safe, stable housing environment. In addition, VHP residents can access all other services the CCE offers. Individual benefits or MSP may partially or fully cover additional care. To learn more, visit https://lnkd.in/g9-y_7WK

NHSE have published their 2025/26 priorities and operational planning guidance. We welcome NHSE's request that ICBs explicitly reflect children and young people's needs in local planning and funding. When children are not specifically mentioned in policy and funding plans, they are often forgotten about completely. But to tackle the crisis in child health we now need ICBs to prioritise and deliver the investment and resources needed. Read our full response: https://lnkd.in/epYye5Bx

A powerful moment for the MND community in Australia today. As we witness greater visibility for Motor Neurone Disease through our Australian of the Year, my thoughts turn to my dear friend Lowri, who we lost to MND before her 40th birthday, leaving behind her precious 4-year-old son. Working in childhood dementia, I see daily how progressive conditions devastate families. While MND and childhood dementia affect different age groups, they share a haunting reality - both are relentless conditions where families watch their loved ones slip away, still waiting for breakthroughs in treatment. The advocacy of both the MND and childhood dementia communities reminds us of the urgent need for equity in medical research and healthcare. While some conditions receive significant attention and funding, others - including these devastating progressive diseases - desperately need more investment and support. To every researcher, healthcare worker, advocate, and family fighting MND, childhood dementia, and other under-resourced conditions - your dedication drives change. To Lowri and all those we've lost too soon - your stories fuel our determination to fight for better treatments and care. Let's use this moment to push for truly equitable research funding and healthcare access. Every person deserves hope, regardless of their diagnosis or age. #MND #ChildhoodDementia #MotorNeuroneDisease #HealthcareEquity #AustralianOfTheYear #Research
I am deeply honoured to accept the title of Australian of the Year 2025. This recognition belongs to the entire MND community - the families, carers, researchers, volunteers, everyone at the FightMND foundation, MND state associations, and the countless Australians who have joined us in this fight. It also belongs to my family, headed by my wife Jan and our children and their partners, who have supported me every step of the way. My journey began in 2013 when I was diagnosed with motor neurone disease - a beast of a disease. It doesn’t discriminate; it robs you of your ability to move, speak, swallow, and breathe. But it also ignited a determination in me to fight for those affected now and in the future. I chose to fight because if I didn’t, how could I expect anyone else to? I chose to hope because I believe in the decency and generosity of Australians. I thought, if people truly understood the challenges we face, they’d join the fight with me. And you have - oh, how you have. So thank you. In my lifetime, I hope we find the causes of MND, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure. Beyond that, I hope to leave a legacy that shows we all have the power to choose to fight, to smile, and to act. Because the mark of a person isn’t what they say; it’s what they do. Thank you for believing in this fight. Together, we will win it. #AusoftheYear Australian of the Year Awards

New study in #HSR Wiley from Erin P. Finley PhD, MPH et al evaluates the implementation and trust-building strategies associated with successful partnership formation in scale-up of the Veteran Sponsorship Initiative (VSI), an evidence-based suicide prevention intervention enhancing connection to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other resources during the military-to-civilian transition period. WHAT IS KNOWN: Prevention of suicide among transitioning service members (TSMs) is a complex public health problem with many potential partners and a high level of uncertainty regarding effective solutions. WHAT THIS STUDY ADDS: We conducted a qualitative case study of implementation strategies and trust-building strategies associated with successful partnership formation in the scale-up and spread of VSI from October 2020–October 2022. CONCLUSION: This case study is among the first to directly examine strategies for establishing partnerships in implementation. Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eXyDdYpA
