When a community works together towards a common goal, it becomes stronger and more resilient. Conversely, if each member of the community works in isolation for their own personal gain, the community becomes weak and fragmented. True leadership involves a commitment to the greater good of the community. Always think about the 6C's of community engagements a lot can be changed ,when we are involving the community for any activity "basically restoring the degraded forest areas " it's try using these 6C'S Communication, Collaboration, Consistency, Compassion, Creativity, and Commitment. They collectively help in fostering an engaged and vibrant community.

Plenty of folks want to "build a community". I've come to realise that is focusing on the wrong thing, though. No single person 'builds a community'. That goes against the definition of it being about everyone shaping it together. It being about a single person is a cult. We therefore can't 'build a community' as individuals or organisations. But what we can do is create the spark of something to bring it to life. And then we can then hope to help shape its culture by modelling behaviours, highlighting good examples, and articulating values/standards. (This is the magic). Experience therefore tells me great community leaders don't focus on building the community... They focus on building a culture - the community growth bit happens as people bring in one another. What does LEADERSHIP ON SET look like? It looks like fostering community. - As a crew member, that means prioritizing people over projects. - As a head of department, that means pulling your weight — AKA leading by example — and giving your team the flexibility to pull theirs. - As a collaborator, that means thoughtfulness— Listen. Consider. Act. Fostering community yields the best work environment, which thus makes the best movies.

"I'm about to lose it! My community is not engaged, and I don't understand why. 😡💢" Two things: - To unify a community: You need a common and understood vision. - To engage the community: You need a leader to tell them what to do and how. Now, two new problems: - How to develop and properly convey the vision of your project? - How to recruit or create a leader to drive your community? 👉 Like and Comment: "Vision" And I'll share an action plan with a checklist of 10 essential points to tackle these two issues. A link to community got removed from a fairly major product surface a while back. There was a lot of hand-wringing. This week, we got the thumbs up to ship TWO community links in that interface. What it took: * Gathering numbers to back up our value * Honing our pitch to make sure there was a reason customers would find use in a community link * Educating the team we were working with and understanding & empathizing with their concerns * Finding a more relevant place/angle to surface community * Running an experiment to ensure we didn't break anything. We won this by being a thoughtful, valuable partner that was solving for business and member goals. NOT by insisting we "deserved" to be featured, by complaining to leadership, etc. Having your community featured is NOT a given. We have to be smart, collaborative, data-driven professionals and play the long game. If we do, the sky is the limit.

Beyond Titles: As a leader, you're not just filling a position; you're shaping a community. Your influence transcends titles and spreads through actions, empathy, and mentorship. Embrace the responsibility to uplift, empower, and create positive change.

The secret to building a successful community? Here are my three main strategies in building a community from scratch: Find the common denominator This could be a shared need or vision. Make sure that this is always the foundation on which you connect people. For example, I made sure that the shared need (which was the need for standards and templates) was the main focus of every community interaction. Strong leadership Communities need to mature, and in its initial stages it requires a strong lead that illustrates the possibilities and also the importance of being a part of the community. A community lead should be able to find the shared need and motivate the community to participate. Connect to the individual A community is nothing without the individual. As a community lead, your first task starts with getting to know the individuals. It's not always possible to know everyone from your community, but that does not mean you should not do your best to get to know who is in your community. Bonus: Make sure to implement a continuous improvement loop in the initial stages and commit to the suggestions.
