I wanted to wish all of my professional peers a happy American Independence Day, and to remind everyone how lucky we are that our forefathers had the insights to lay the groundwork for where we are today. Nothing is perfect, and trials where freedom is, will strengthen. As professionsals, we begin each fiscal year with a new set of goals. Back in 1787, our forefathers did the same, and laid these out in what became the preamble of our Constitution. Essentially, the “objectives” of our governments foundation. “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.". Take it to heart. Take it to work. Take it to sleep. These are critical objectives that we must strive to drive with passion in our work and home lives. Don’t tread on these objectives. Happy Independence Day!

As we celebrate the birth of our nation with friends and family this Fourth of July, we are reminded of the principles behind our nation's founding—freedom, opportunity, and the pursuit of happiness for all. These ideals are at the heart of TakeCharge's mission as we work to counter the common narrative that America is systemically racist. Last year, I wrote an Op-Ed (https://lnkd.in/gCFPpSxt) detailing why black Americans don't have to choose between Juneteenth and the Fourth of July - because without the Declaration of Independence, there would be no Juneteenth. And there would be no Juneteenth without the sacrifice of 350,000 white men of the Union Army from non-slave-holding states who died in the Civil War, leading to the Emancipation Proclamation. There are organizations using both holidays to divide the nation by insisting that America has been broken by systemic racism. And this helps no one — black or white. So, today, we honor the progress America has made and the strides we continue to take toward a more prosperous future for every American. Our commitment to ensuring that every individual, regardless of skin color, understands they have the opportunity to achieve the American dream remains unwavering. This Independence Day, we celebrate the American spirit and the promise it holds for the citizens of this nation - regardless of skin color. Here's what NOT to say in your Memorial Day post: --Avoid trivializing the day with phrases like "Happy Memorial Day." It's a time for solemn reflection, not celebration. --Don't make it about sales or promotions. This day is about honoring the sacrifices of our fallen heroes, not shopping discounts. --Refrain from self-promotion or using the day to boost your own agenda. Keep the focus on honoring those who served. --Avoid political statements or divisive rhetoric. Memorial Day transcends politics; it's about unity and gratitude. --Don't forget the families of the fallen. Acknowledge their loss and the ongoing impact of their loved one's sacrifice. Happy 4th of July in the USA! 🦅🧨💙 The Fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. On this day, the Continental Congress declared the thirteen American colonies as independent states, free from British rule. The Declaration, primarily authored by Thomas Jefferson, outlined the colonies' grievances against King George III and articulated their right to self-governance. The celebration of Independence Day began shortly after the Declaration was signed, with festivities including bonfires, parades, and public readings of the Declaration. Over time, these celebrations have evolved to include fireworks, concerts, barbecues, and other patriotic displays, reflecting the nation's pride and heritage. Fun Facts: - Today is also known for its massive consumption of hotdogs. Americans consume around 150 million hot dogs on the Fourth of July each year! 🌭 - Approximately 16,000 firework displays occur on the Fourth of July across the United States each year ranging from large, organized events in major cities to smaller shows in local communities. 🎆 - The largest American flag, known as "Superflag," measures 505 feet by 225 feet and covers more than 3.5 acres.
